About this Cook
I am married and planning to have children. My husband and I love to try new things, check that, he likes to try it once I've tested it a few times. I am the baking queen, he is the sauce and the sandwich king.
My favorite things to cook
Call me basic, I love making cookies, simple, fun and quick! I also love making bread, no bread machines here!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have inherited my grandmother's love for making bread and am now the designated bread maker of the family. Easter braids, Challa, Foccacia, and of course, Shredded wheat bread; my Great aunt Vera's recipe! That is the tradition I am keeping alive in my family.
My cooking triumphs
Greek Easter cookies: Koulouria. I actually impressed my in-laws (which are Greek of course) by making them even better than theirs!
My cooking tragedies
I can't recall one exactly, but I have had my share of dead yeast breads and under-baked cakes...

Soft Molasses Cookies V
These were super soft and had good taste. I did not refriferat the dough at all and still had an easy time rolling it into balls. I am used to a bigger cookie though, so next time I will make them a good golf ball size. I added raisins and a touch of ground cloves for extra flavor and texture. Thanks for the recipe!

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
Terrific! I will never, ever, buy pre-made mozza sticks again! I did not use pre-packaged cheese sticks, instead I just cut up a large brick of mozzarella cheese and it worked just fine. The important thing is to coat them really well to avoid "leaking" and remove them from the oil very quickly. Thanks for this recipe!

Kielbasa and Cabbage
I have made this a few times now and it's delicious. A diffrent, easy dish for a quick weeknight meal. I toast the caraway seeds before incorporating them to the dish, to get more flavor out of them.
