My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year I make my fiance double sided apple crisp (yes found on this website!) and he LOVES it. I also make my family all of their birthday cakes, including a castle cake and an Avril lavigne inspired cake for my niece (frosting recipe found here as well!) Every year I make sugar cookies for christmas and decorate them all pretty....unfortunately that means nobody will eat them but the kids (cause they don't care as long as it's cookies!)

ugh.... I hate when I don't have everything for a recipe and try to substitute unsuccessfully!

Broccoli Coleslaw
I made this recipe for labor day. I left out the sunflower seeds and also used apple cider vinegar as someone suggested. OH AND.....I made twice the amount of broccoli, only used 3 "stems" of green onion instead of 2 bunches but the same amount of vinaigrette. Everyone LOVED it! The ramen noodles weren't crunchy at all.I thought it was a little too sweet...that may have been the apple cider though. My husband said he thinks the sweetness offset the raw broccoli harsh taste. everyone asked for the recipe!

Ghirardelli(R) Classic White Chocolate Creme Brulee
The taste is amazing!! The only problem is the amount for me was off. It said it would fill four 6-inch ramekins. I only have 4-inch ramekins so I thought it would fill more, but it only filled 4 of them. I followed the recipe exactly.

Jo Jo Potatoes
EXCELLENT RECIPE! The taste was very good but not overwhelming. For the people that said the flour got lumpy, that happens when you get too much egg in your flour. Keep one fork for tossing the potatoes in the egg, (1 or 2 at a time) make sure you drip some egg off as you toss them into the flour.
