Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
First, thank you so much for sharing your grandma's recipe! These pancakes are great. They came out thick and fluffy, a little sweet and savory with a nice buttery taste. This is how pancakes taste like when you go to a nicer restaurant (not that IHOP junk) My family loves chocolate chips in pancakes so I threw in a combination of white and milk chocolate. I think the problem with reviewers who complained about the saltiness is because of the butter they use. I always use unsalted butter so mine came out great. But if anyone is using salted butter I can understand these may come out too salty. If you're using inferior quality ingredients like margarine or other imitation butter-type of spread, you'll need to compensate accordingly. Some reviewers complained that these are not fluffy. I didn't have that problem but if you do, you might want to check your baking powder is still good. Even if it's not yet expired, baking powder doesn't last as long as you think. Speaking of which, using a low quality baking powder or mistakenly using baking soda instead, might explain why some people think this has a bitter taste.
