I married about a yr. ago and moved abroad. I'm a New Yorker with a rich heritage mixture :)
(half spanish,french moor on my mom's side and half danish an spanish on my dad's side while both being from the Dominican Republic). I love traveling,seeing and trying different cultures and cuisine.I am a middle child and I love to try new things and discover what I am capable of. At this moment,while I am a Dr. I am succeding my venture as a housewife to my wonderful husband who I must say has gained a couple of pounds do to my cooking from scratch and I am taking the time to develope my creative side which was quiet dormant for awhile (scrapbooking,jewelry making, dabbing into polymer clay,crocheting and pole to name a few has been my most recents).
My favorite things to cook
My personal favorite is anything that has to do with meat, I am a carnivore ..veal, beef, pork, lamb you name it, I cook it anyway and anyhow.I love to cook eggs (though I am allergic to it) but I make the meanest tortilla, omelettes, scrambled eggs without even trying it.and up to now I have not had any difficulty whatsoever in cooking may it be vegetable, fish, seafood, soup, stew I can cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
There was this specific Dominican tradition (which is a most of the Dominican christmas and new year dinner)my sisters and I had with my mom (she passed away in 2004) that consisted on doing "Pasteles en hojas" or what would be called ground roots pockets if translated into english

My cooking triumphs
when I am able to do something sweet such as pie or cookies I am sooooo terrible when it comes to baking although I was finally able to do the most delicious, moist eggless oreo cookies cupcake yeah!!!
My cooking tragedies
baking...I overcook or undercook and breads...they come out as hard as bricks .. oh well, you can't know it all :)
