Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This was a really good no fuss recipe - however the part of the roast that wasnt in liquid did not cook and was really tough so for dinner I just flipped it over, we ate from what was tender and then I just popped the top back on the crock pot and cooked it for another hours or so. With left overs I made corned beef hash - my husband had never had it and loved it.

Mama's Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
Hmm - it was good but I was hoping for a more spicy potatoe salad - I put double the horseradish and no one could tell it was there. Not sure waht the point was. It was good but not what I was looking for - thanks anyway!

Horseradish Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2004
Of all the ingredients to not have, it was the Horseradish I was missing! I made it anyway and it was pretty good - added some home grown chives to it. Next time I will defiantly add the Horseradish. Will probably make this every time I make corn on the cob! Thanks!

Baked Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I was disappointed because I thought this was BBQ but the end result was a copy cat version of a sloppy joe recipe on this site. I like that recipe but I was in the mood for BBQ.

Angela's Alfredo Ham

OK, I give this two stars because of the bottled alfredo sauce. I will NEVER buy that stuff again, its so gross. I definitley recommend making your own with this recipe. It ruined mine - BLECK!

Ive made greens before using a Rachel Ray recipe but and they were "ok" but these were great. You definatly need the ham hocks - my husband gobbled them up. Thanks so much! Served with Fried Catfish and cornbread!

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
This is a really neat recipe. We loved it. I might add less salt next time (by half) and add some chopped fresh garlic but other than that, tastes better then the real thing! I wont by the bottled stuff again and I can imagine this would make great gifts! Thanks!!

Armadillo Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2004
Ok, I had a little trouble with these - first of all they are HUGE. I even halved my jalepeno's but after covering it in the sausage mixture, they came out enormous. I even flattened out a sausage patty to wrap around the jalepeno and made it as thin as possible and still - BIG. The problem was when they baked, a couple of them the sausage mixture started to slide off the jalepeno, Im thinking because of all the cheese in the sausage mixture. I stuffed some with cream cheese and some with cheddar, the cream cheese ones were better, I have to say. We put the rest in the freezer and my husband decided to reheat some yesterday and they tasted so much better. Im thinking maybe not put so much cheese in the sausage mixture and use smaller jalepenos? I dont know, I will make this again but I need to mess with it. Very good though.

I dotn know what I did wrong but this was a gooey mess. THe flavor was great but it was impossible to cut into bars or whatever - you had to scoop it with a spoon - it was more like taffy or something. Oh well

Whiskey Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2004
THis cake was really good. I didnt put the nuts in it cuz my husband hates nuts but turned out just as well. Looking back I noticed I used all the butterscotch chips for the cake and forgot to add any on top but it was still wonderful. Sprinkled with powdered sugar. Great!
