Tanya's Louisiana Southern Fried Chicken

This is the best homemade fried chicken recipe ever! It's crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside with the perfect amount of seasoning. I served this with homemade garlic mashed potatoes, sweet tea, and wheat pita bread. DELICIOUS!!! The only changes I made was to use 8oz. whipping cream and approx. 1/2 tsp. baking powder. I think the thickness of the cream made a big difference in the crunchiness of the skin. Next time I make this, I'm going to try double dipping the chicken in the milk mixture and flour to get extra crispy skin. You've gotta try this recipe!

Banana Banana Bread

This recipe was so easy! I read the directions wrong and used 2 bananas instead of 2 1/3 cups, so my bread was a bit thick. Next time, I'll remember to use more bananas and it'll make it more moist. I also added cinnamon, nutmeg, pecans, and vanilla extract according to another member's suggestion. It made all the difference! Overall, a great recipe!

Moroccan Lamb Kabobs

Pretty good, but a little too spicy. The lamb doesn't need the mayo because lamb is already a bit oily. I added red wine vinegar and that added a nice touch, plus green onions instead of red ones. Also, instead of grilling I broiled the meat until brown on top and cooked throughout. Served with feta, sliced tomatoes, and whole wheat pita. Very tasty!

Carib Black Bean Soup

This was delicious! I followed all the directions, except I used 2 cans of black beans and 2 cups chicken broth, and no more water. I added the sherry and vinegar at the end and mistakenly omitted the soy sauce. I didn't make a soup but instead simmered down the liquids and served as a side dish. Magnificent!

Sizzling Chicken Skewers

This recipe was pretty good, albeit unusual. I used quartered chicken pieces instead of chicken breast and set the oven to 375. The peanut butter was a bit overpowering, and I think I'm going to tone it down with salsa garnish. Maybe 3/4 PB would work instead of 1 cup.
