Buffalo Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2015
Just what I was hoping for. I followed the directions with just two changes. I used all chicken broth instead of any water, and I added about 2-3 oz of whipped cream cheese. I was hoping for something like the buffalo chicken dip we all love, and this was it. Served it with toasted pita triangles, and the family loved it.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
This was a hit with my Soup Club and with my husband. I was worried about the 18.25 oz. cake mix because all of the mixes in our stores are now between 15 and 16 oz. I used a cake mix that was about 16 oz., made no other changes to the recipe, and it worked fine. I used a nine-inch bundt pan, and that was a good size for the amount of mix. One other suggestion I'd make is to make sure you get the glaze to a full rolling boil before you start the five minute timing. If you don't, the glaze may not set up and will be too runny.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
I made this almost exactly as written (just added more bacon and more barbecue sauce based on other reviews). It was easy to put together and was very good. I wasn't sure about the cilantro, even though I love cilantro, but it really does add something to the dish. Unless you absolutely hate cilantro, don't leave it out.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
This was very refreshing. The second time I made it, I put all the dressing ingredients in a blender, added six strawberries, and blended it. It gave the dressing a slight strawberry flavor that tied the whole salad together.

Chicken Enchilada Soup III

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
This was a very good soup as written. I did make a few changes the second time I made it, which I thought made it even better. I added about a cup of finely chopped green pepper and about a cup or a little more of whole kernel corn. Instead of the masa harina, I bought a package of small corn tortillas. I tore up about ten of them into very tiny pieces, simmered them in a pan with just enough water to cover them. Once softened, I stirred them and they dissolved. I then put the mix into the soup and it was perfect. I also used more chicken stock and less water.

Marzetti® Italian Penne Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I've made this twice. The second time, I added sliced mushrooms. I also used Drew's Roasted Garlic and Peppercorn dressing the first time and liked it better than the Asiago Peppercorn. I'd suggest making it at least one day before you want to serve it. The longer it sits, the better the flavors blend.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
I have to give it five stars. My husband loves MY chili recipe....but when he tasted this one, he said it was even better than mine, and I should make it again....and again....and again. Apparently, I now make the world's second best chili recipe

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I'd give this more stars if I could. I made a few changes, based on suggestions of others. I added a handful of shredded carrots, skipped the salt, used a can of chicken broth in place of some of the water, and added about 3 ounces of pepperjack Velvetta. Amazing soup! Update: I've made this many times. I stopped adding the carrots, replace all the water with chicken broth, and add at least 4 ounces of Velveeta pepper jack cheese. It's my favorite soup, and it's versatile. You can add more or less of the onion, celery, and ham and also play around with other ingredients.

Cheesy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
I've made this recipe three times, always doing as other suggested and using 1 cup of sour cream in place of a cup of the mayo and using O'Brien hashbrowns with onions and peppers. This time, I used Velvetta Pepper Jack, which made it the best ever. The pepper jack definitely added a nice touch.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
This truly was as easy and as good as everyone said. Make extra marinade to use as a sauce. The leftovers were even better.

I made this recipe with a few changes. I added some chopped green pepper and sliced mushrooms. I used an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. I also added a couple tablespoons of dark brown sugar to the sauce. My husband loved it, and the leftovers were even better.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
I've tried many recipes from this site, but this was the first I HAD to write a review for. This is fantastic French toast. It's not hard to make at all, and the results are wonderful. I served it at a Christmas brunch for 30 people, and everyone raved about it. A must try recipe!
