Although I have been on my own since I was twenty (I am thirty now), I have cooked very little because it always intimidated me. So, I want to branch out from what I know and began cooking with confidence. Other than cooking, I work out about three days a week, I am a preschool teacher and advocate for children among other things, I love history and culture so cooking on a cultural level is something I would love to do, and I have made my own little cookbook of little recipes that I have found and would love to make.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are omelets, any pasta dishes, and chicken dishes, and meatloaf.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a southern background where the food is considered comfort food. It's very fatty I must say but oh so good!!! When I think of cooking within my family, I think of fried chicken and pork chops, baked macaroni and cheese, greens with a little bit of vinegar, and biscuits.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph would be the alfredo pasta with chicken and peas that I cooked and sent to work. It was all gone by the end of the day and everyone asked if I was going to make more of it!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tradedy would be my first time attempting to fry chicken. I tried to pawn the so called fried chicken off to my co-workers and they gagged at the thought of eating it. Also, I experiment with pancake batter all the time! I put things in there that I think would make a great end product and it always turns out to be great. Well, I put peanut butter in there one time and ate it. I nearly threw up lol!
