About this Cook
I've been a "lacto-ovo" vegetarian (I eat dairy and eggs but NO meat) for over 20+ years. I like to figure out ways to convert traditional "meat" meals into vegetarian meals.
My favorite things to cook
Biscuits and gravy, pot pie, stroganoff, desserts, etc.
My cooking triumphs
I come from a long line of carnivores. It pleases me when they like the vegetarian food I cook.

Peanut Blossoms II
Subbed butter for shortening and lowered the temp to 350. I don't know if it's because I had little bakers helping me measure ingredients but I had to add an extra 1/4 cup of flour to make the dough workable. Baked 11 minutes, put kisses on each. Did not press before baking. If they come out and seem a little undercooked, not to worry; they do firm up! PERFECT! :)

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
Used vermouth cooking wine for the white wine. Very tasty! Would make again!

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Good flavor but didn't bake up as much as I had hoped it would. I used a standard pie plate with homemade crust but it came out flat and barely made it 1/3 the way up the sides. I replaced half the corn syrup with equal parts honey and pure maple syrup. I also decreased the bourbon to 1 1/2 tablespoons and omitted the chocolate.
