Kelli's Baked Halibut

Reviewed: May 10, 2004
This recipe is really good! Creative & simple too! I can't stand miracle whip so I used 1/4c. real mayo and 1/4c. tartar sauce which worked out nice. I over salted it because I forgot that the saltines have plenty of salt on them so if you try this keep that in mind.:~) Thank's Kelli!

Cheesiest Tomato Soup

Reviewed: May 8, 2004
This soup was delicious and so simple to prepare! I cut the recipe in half and followed the advice of some other reviewers by adding 1 TBSP sugar and bringing the soup to a boil then adding the cheese...it melted instantly! I served it with toasted sesame bagels with cream cheese! My husband and I enjoyed this satisfying lunch! I will prepare this again for sure! Thanks for the recipe!

Easiest Spicy Cod

Reviewed: May 5, 2004
This recipe was ok...I served it over rice and found it pretty boring. The next day I used the leftover rice, and spicy fish in tacos...DELICIOUS! wished I'd thought of it the night before. I warmed it all up along with soft flour tortillas, topped with cheddar cheese and lettuce and it was fab! I will use this easy recipe again for spicy fish tacos, YUM! Thanks for the recipe!

Coconut Macaroons II

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2004
This was my first attempt at macaroons. Delicious! Very easy to make. Since I was out of vanilla extract I subbed it with maple syrup and it worked out perfectly! The bakery down the street makes wonderful macaroons at a buck a piece! Thanks Robin for saving me tons of money by sharing this great recipe!

Date Nut Pinwheel Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2004
These cookies are worth all the time and trouble they take to make! They are SOO GOOD! I couldn't wait several hours for the pinwheels to freeze as per instructions but 35-40 minutes in the freezer made them really firm before baking them. If your going to try these (and you really should) don't change a thing about the recipe and be sure to clean up as you go because it saves alot of time in the end. I for one will make these again and again and again. Thanks Jo-Anne for the great recipe!

Lentils with Tomatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2004
This dish was very yummy! I added one zuccini, half a cup of chopped cilantro and red hot pepper chopped really fine. I also substituted the green bell pepper for yellow. I' too lazy to bother peeling or taking out seeds from the tomatoes...really it will be ok to skip that step. Instead of salt I used garlic salt. This was really good! Thanks!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2004
This is great hummus! Don't drain both cans, only one...use bean liquid to smooth it out. Red chili flakes give this recipe a kick as well as some nice colors. Thanks for this great recipe!

Awesome Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2004
This soup wasn't as great as I thought it'd be from all the reviews I read. The lemongrass needs to be doubled as I couldn't even taste a sign of it w/ 3 TBSP. Much more of a pain than it's worth...thanks anyways.

Hot and Sour Soup with Tofu

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2004
This had a most lovely flavor. My family and I loved this soup. A few suggestions...The bell pepper is unecassary. Soup way too thin and had to add 3 TBSP more corn starch. Hot&sour soup doesn't exist w/o eggs so I scrambled 2 eggs in a bowl and slowly poured it in at the end of the process. Added a couple handfuls of clean and cooked shrimp...wonderful!

Mongolian Beef I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2004
The sauce was really bland. Luckily I hade some "Lawry's" sesame ginger 30 min marinade on hand which completely saved it. 1 1/2c did the trick. After that this was the BEST mongolian beef ever!! My family looooved it and we'll never order it out again. Thanks alot!

Raspberry Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Yummy recipe!! I didn't have almond extract so I used vanilla instead. Also I added 1/2 cup blanched finely ground almonds to the dough. I halved the recipe, what a huge mistake!! Next time I'll definitly double.

My husband adores these! If too much time passes between making these he always asks me to make some. Substituted lamb tastes alot better than ground beef and some black seed really compliment these flavorful little appetizers. Thank you soo much for posting this recipe!

This Clam chowder is simply delicious! My family loved it. Not thick enough but a TBSP of cornstarch did the trick. I added 1 med carrot shredded for color and dried dill. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
