Restaurant-Style Taco Meat Seasoning

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
I no longer buy seasoning mixes, and have made this several times. I add more garlic powder, instead of adding garlic salt. Great recipe!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I doubled the recipe for a big event. I added an additional 8 oz bag of cheese to the dish (so 3 when I doubled it), and sprinkled panko breadcrumbs on top (without adding the butter). I too used low fat cottage cheese, 2% cheese, and light sour cream. I used spiral noodles versus elbow macaroni. The dish was a hit! This is also even better day 2. It was thick so if you like fried mac and cheese, you could do that with this recipe.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
I will never go back to box mix!!! The only item I did differently was add 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Definitely fluffy and my husband's new favorite!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
This is the best pumpkin bread my husband has ever eaten. It's very dense, moist, and addictive. I have made this recipe a few times. I accidentally purchased pumpkin pie filling, and did not add the spices. The bread still turned out great!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I have been searching for a cheesecake similar to one offered at Buca Di Beppo. This recipe is even BETTER! I made one cheesecake for Christmas Eve -- I was making a second one on Christmas Day! My husband thinks this is the best cheesecake he has ever eaten (big O)!

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
I baked the recipe as is, but ended up adding 1/2 cup of sour cream, garlic powder, ground mustard, salt, and pepper. Next time I will double the cheddar cheese soup, add 8 oz. colby and 8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, and add cracker crumbs and butter to the top.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
My husband loved this! I used meatloaf mixture (1/2 pound each of ground veal, pork, and sirloin meat). I also added chopped onions and peppers (I had red, green, and yellow on hand). I put bread under the mixture to soak up some of the grease. Very moist and yummy!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This was creamy and rich -- just the way a cheesecake should be! I used pecans instead of walnuts, and it was wonderful (it's the nuts I had in the cabinet). Excellent recipe!

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I made this the night before serving and it was wonderful the next day! It was a very moist and dense coffee cake, which my husband loved! He's not a fan of nuts, so I will make it again without the nuts --- it will be just as delicious! Great recipe!

Killer Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
I changed the sour cream to green onion dip, adding seasoning salt to the potatoes, and used "kettle" type potatoes chips on the top instead of cereal. Family loved it!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2004
The best my husband ever had! I used round steak and browned the meat in flour, salt, and pepper before placing in the crock pot (this cut the cooking time down quite a bit though). I substituted light onion and chive cream cheese, added an additional 1/2 cup of beef broth, and added lots of mushrooms. Excellent recipe!
