Omg, I can't believe you shared a family secret recipe online! How horrible for you but so good for me! I almost feel ashamed of myself for using it, but my taste buds are loving it. I subsituted the fat used for the rouz. I used a mix of the cooked sausage, chicken, some evoo and some butter for the roux and caramalized the onions in the final minutes of making the roux. That is all I did differently besides timing. Although I wish I hadn't used the food processor on the veggies. It seems like I am not eating any veggies. but other than that the soup is really good and has great texture.
