I have been cooking since I was 5 years old. I love cooking for family and friends, and I've often thought about a career in catering.

My favorite family cooking traditions
I love spending the entire day before Thanksgiving in the kitchen preparing special foods while listening to music. And I love waking up with my husband early on Thanksgiving morning and preparing the turkey while my kids watch the parades on television.
My cooking triumphs
I once hosted a full dinner party in my home for over 50 guests. People kept raving about how delicious the food was, and I had several people ask me what catering company I used. When I told them I did everything myself, they were very impressed, and I felt quite proud of my success.
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I were dating, I made a vegetarian chili recipe from Linda McCartney's cookbook. I followed the directions precisely, but it was so bad we took one bite and threw out the whole pot. It was really disgusting!

Braised Balsamic Chicken
Will definitely make this again. All five people in our family loved it! I made it as written and wouldn't change a thing.

Chicken Enchiladas II
Made this for dinner tonight with changes recommended by 79SHALE97, and they were the best homemade enchiladas I've ever tasted. They tasted like restaurant quality. My mother-in-law said they were the best enchiladas she's ever had. I'll definitely be making this again.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
This soup was perfect. I made as directed except substituted crushed corn chips instead of baking tortillas. Served with sliced avacado, Monterrey Jack cheese, and lemon wedges. We ALL loved this one! Will definitely make this again.
