Italian Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This was yummy! Perfect for a cold snowy night and so easy too. I used 3 cheese tortellini plus added a can of diced tomatoes (undrained) as well as diced onion that I browned with the sausage (hot turkey sausage). Will make again!!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
I BRINED A BUTTERBALL TURKEY - it was too late to turn back because I had not read all of the reviews about brining a BB turkey. I am sooooo glad that I did it. Now I did not use the brining ingredients in this recipe because I had already purchased a brining kit (with a bag) at the grocery store and used that, but I did follow the rest of this recipe. I did stuff it, but the stuffing came out so wet that it was almost unservable until my husband said to mix it in the the extra batch that always goes in the oven and Wow, that made the stuffing even better too. I did do the upside down thing and it was not fun turning a 22 pound stuffed hot turkey, but we managed and in the end, it turned out to be the best turkey any of us have ever had. No one could get over how moist and flavorful it was. The brine kit that I used was from Fire & Flavor and they do have a website FIREANDFLAVOR.COM. It was not too salty and I will never do a turkey again without brining it. Perfect turkey is right!!!

Restaurant-Style House Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
Delicious! I took this to a dinner party at my daughter's new house and she said "somebody get the camera, I can't believe my husband is eating salad" (2 helpings too!). Black olives would also be a nice addition to this. Thanks for a great salad recipe.

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This was delicious and so easy to make. The grandkids loved helping to make the meatballs. Needless to say, the meatballs were all different shapes and sizes. Update~ I've gotten lazy and was in a hurry so I used frozen cocktail sized meatballs (thawed), added the basil and onion to my broth and in no time flat I had delicious Italian Wedding soup. NOBODY knew the difference. Now I will make homemade meatballs when my grandkids are here (just for the fun of it). Enjoy

Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
This was great. I made it ahead and froze it unbaked. Then put in the oven frozen in the oven frozend on the moring that I was ready to have it. Set my oven to come on and bake before I came home from work. Yum! Tasty, hot meal when I walked in the door. My husband commented that he really liked it too. Didn't change anything.

Aunt Jewel's Chicken Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
This is tasty, simple comfort food. I did not pre-cook the chicken since it was going to bake for 45 mins and it tured out great! I did cut the recipe in 1/2 but used a whole box of stuffing. I also sprinkled the chicken with some Emeril's essence before baking. Served with baby peas. YUM!

Baked Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
These were great!!!! I used regular white potatoes but followed everything else as written. They are better than "regular" mashed potatoes and the make ahead feature is a definite plus!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
YUM! Tonight was the second time that I made this. The first time, my husband found it a bit sweet (not me), so this time I coated the ham with mustard and then patted on the brown sugar. Perfect!

Great recipe. The combination of cheeses with the sour cream is a wonderful flavor. I did use more sauce in mine.

Famous Pork Chops

These were great! So moist and tender. I did remove foil for the last 15 minutes so that they browned a ittle bit and weren't too soggy. Will make again.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
This soup was perfect for a rainy, cool autumn day. It was super easy to make and very flavorful. I added a can of white beans and they were a nice addition. Next time I think I'll just use one packet of onion soup mix. A keeper!!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
I'm giving it 3 stars because I would give it 4 but my husband only gave it 2 and that was stretching it. He felt that it was too sweet and hardly ate any. I didn't find it sweet but then I love sweets. So, I guess won't be making it again.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
Hmmmm, not sure what everyone is raving about. To me it's just another breaded chicken recipe. I did add Parmesan as many recommended and I had to cut the time back to 25 mins because they were drying out. Will keep searching.

Basic Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This is GREAT. I didn't have enough white vinegar so I had to use 1/2 white and 1/2 balsamic. YUM. The chicken was so moist and came right off the bone. I used thighs and cooked them for 1 1/2 hours on the grill at 250. I'm making them again tonight for a birthday party cookout for my husband. Finger lick'in good!!!
