Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2014
This was a really good recipe...even though I messed up thinking I was using mozzarella but instead had accidentally substituted Monterrey Jack by mistake. Based on other viewer comments, I did add garlic salt, garlic powder and Italian seasoning (1/2 teaspoon each), but otherwise followed recipe as written. Have decided it really doesn't matter which cheese you use...really good with any one or more of them. Great recipe...thanks for posting!!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2014
Made this recipe as written other than substituting olive oil for the vegetable oil. It was OK, but nothing special. Once I took the hamburger patties out and added the flour, found the gravy to be way too thick. Used additional beef broth to try to dilute it. Again, the final result was OK, but I won't be making it again.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2014
When I was mixing up everything, started having doubts about the recipe. Boy was I wrong! This cole slaw recipe was WONDERFUL! My husband is picky about not wanting too sweet of taste. He LOVED this! I've never made cole slaw...he kept asking me-- are you sure YOU made it and didn't buy it pre-made? What a compliment! Followed recipe as written and would highly recommend this recipe! I did make it in the morning and left it all day in the refrigerator. Think that probably improved the taste. Thanks for posting this recipe!! Now one of our fav "go to" recipes :-)

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2014
Ugh! This was a horrible recipe. My husband will typically eat anything but even he couldn't stomach the taste of this dish. I followed the recipe as written except for cutting back to 1/2 teaspoon cumin based on another reviewer's comments and I omitted the optional malt vinegar. We had to throw away the entire meal! Definitely would not recommend it! If I could have rated it a "0", I would have.

Incredible Red Smashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
Followed recipe other than halving since there's only two of us. Great recipe! Like another reviewer suggested, would just mash potatoes next time versus using beater--potatoes came out looking too soupy. But again, the flavor was awesome! Thanks for posting!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2014
My husband and I loved this recipe! Only changes I made were to reduce ginger to 1/8 teaspoon and double ground pepper to 1/2 teaspoon. I was actually surprised my husband liked it because he typically doesn't care for anything sweet (especially his meat!), but he raved on and on about it. Definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks for posting!

Chef John's Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
Yum...yum...yum... Only had two potatoes but followed the recipe as written with amounts indicated...other than substituting cheddar cheese for white cheddar (our grocery didn't carry it). Since I had so much fillling, omitted putting the tops in the bottoms of the potatoes before stuffing them so I'd have more room to use all the stuffing. Turned out awesome!! Definitely a "keeper" recipe!! Next time I may put cheese on top about 10 minutes before potatoes are cooked (based on another reviewer's suggestion), but that's only because my husband and I are big cheese fans :-). Thanks for posting!!

Tomato Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2014
Ok recipe...followed recipe other than using olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Probably won't make again...pretty bland and "plain jane". But thanks for posting recipe! Love experimenting with new recipes

Jeannie's Kickin' Fried Fish

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2014
I am not a big fish fan, but even I enjoyed this! Followed the recipe as written except 1) didn't have roasted onion flakes so used dried minced onion instead and 2) put the spices in a Ziploc bag to coat fillets after dipping them in the milk mixture. Usually my husband and I use cocktail sauce on our fish dishes, but this was so good, it didn't really need it! Great recipe...thanks for posting!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2014
This recipe was amazing!! Only changes I made were to add additional garlic salt (1 tsp) and only cooked chicken for 30 minutes. It came out perfect!! Definitely a keeper for our meal rotations. Thanks for posting.

Oven Roasted Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
Excellent recipe! The only changes I made were to only use 1 pound of potatoes (kept the rest of the recipe measurements the same), used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and omitted the 1 teaspoon oil in preparing the pan (found potatoes were coated sufficiently with the 1 tablespoon). For ease, mixed the potatoes with the oil and cheese mixture in a Ziploc bag instead of using another bowl. But, as I stated earlier, this recipe was "the bomb"! Thanks so much for posting!

Marilyn's Green Beans Italiano

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
This recipe was excellent! Only slight changes I made were to omit the parsley and salt to taste (enough salt in the cheese). This will now become one of our "go to" fav green bean recipes! Thanks for posting!

Asparagus and Mozzarella Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
This recipe is a keeper...but did have problem with the asparagus getting cooked. Next time I will partially cook the asparagus before assembling the rolls. Also mixed 1/2 cup mayo with the mozzarella, spread on the chicken, added the asparagus and then make the rolls. The overall taste was fantastic!! Thanks for the post!!

Easy Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
The rice turned out excellent. Based on other user reviews, I did use 2 cups water and 1 can beef broth, added about 1/4 teaspoon onion salt, and chopped up a 4 ounce can of mushroom stems & pieces. Cooked the rice for 80 minutes and let it sit covered for 15 minutes before serving. Both my husband and I loved it!! Thanks for posting!!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2014
This was an AWESOME recipe!! I did use the breast/white meat from a rotisserie chicken (sliced it into strips) per another reviewer's suggestion which made the meat so tender. Other than that, followed the recipe measurements exactly. Just stirred the vegetables into the butter along with the Cajun seasoning. When they were done, added the cream and seasonings and mixed. Then added the chicken and heated throughout. Definitely a fav of ours now! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Kids Favorite Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2013
Made recipe as posted with one exception being used 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs instead of cereal (based on recommendations of other raters). Came out way too dry, although taste itself was fine. If making it again (which I won't...have much better meatloaf recipes), would definitely reduce cook time!

Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
Tried this recipe tonight. Only thing I did was double gravy based on other user reviews. Surprised meat turned out so tender...which is not usually the case with this cut of meat. However, thought the olive oil after taste was a bit much and didn't like the meat texture (which wasn't the recipe's fault...just a personal preference). If I cooked it again, which I probably won't, would use butter instead of olive oil. But if you're a cube steak fan, would recommend giving this recipe a try.
