Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
Perfect! I only added whole garlic cloves to the cavity, no other changes.

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
I made this today according to the recipe and it was very bland. After I tasted it, I added a few ingredients to give it the taste I had expected, based off of another recipe I looked up on the Internet today. . I added Worcestshire sauce, white vinegar, dry mustard, additional chili powder, garlic, and dehydrated onion. All of this I added a little at a time, tasting after each addition. I also browned the beef before adding anything. Sorry to give it such a low rating, but the recipe, as is, is missing something & required too much "doctoring."

Salmon Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
It was a little bland as written for my personal taste. I bumped up the flavor with celery seed, finely chopped green onions, dill weed, diced red bell pepper, and sweet salad cubes. I started with a teaspoon of each and adjusted as I went along. I used envelopes of salmon and not canned. I served on whole wheat flatbread, with spring greens on top and a squeeze of lemon.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Great recipe!!! Per suggestions from other reviewers, I added about 1 tsp of celery seed and dried dill. I also added about 2 tbs. of sweet salad cubes, a dash of tobasco, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. I cut the recipe in half, so it called for 4 eggs, but I used 5, as i prefer my egg salad a little thicker. Thanks so much for sharing!

Egg Drop Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This recipe is a good base. I added a litte sesame oil and soy sauce. I think that I will use a homemade stock the next time. I think that is the key to good egg drop soup.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Good base recipe that can be changed according to your own personal taste with ease. I added roasted ground cumin, coriander, oregano & madras curry powder, in addition to the basil & bay leaf. I also swapped the water for 1/2 chicken stock & half V8 vegeatable juice, adding a little extra because I prefer a brothy soup. Thanks for the recipe!

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
I only stirred in crushed ginger snaps during the last few minutes of freezing and added an additional teaspoon of cinnamon. Terrific base recipe that can be altered to whichever flavor you want, by simply omitting the cinnamon. This was my first custard style ice cream recipe. I'd only suggest that you strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any coagulated egg, that's what I did to ensure a smooth product. Thanks for sharing!!!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
Great as is, I only made small changes after tasting too suit my tastes. I added 1 tsp of Worcestershire, an additional 1 tsp of prepared yellow mustard, and 1 tsp of onion powder, in addition to the other spices that the recipe called for. Tastes like Manwich, just without the canned taste and a little sweeter. If you tend to like your Sloppy Joes not on the sweet side, then I would recommend starting out with only 1 tsp of brown sugar and then you can add more if you like.

Tartar Sauce IV

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I scaled down to 8 servings. I only added a little onion powder because I wanted more onion flavor and added about a tablespoon of sweet relish in addition to the dill. And of course some freshly ground pepper and pinch of salt. The recipe is good just as it is written, I only adjusted to suit my tastes.

Slow Cooker Bean Casserole AKA Sweet Chili

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
This recipe served as a good base. It is very easy to tweak to your own tastes. I eliminated the bacon because I didn't have any and instead used 1/2 of 16 oz pkg of beef cocktail smokies halved. Also, instead 1 1/2 ground beef, I used 1lb of ground beef and 1/2 pound of pork breakfast sausage. I added 1 tsp of prepared mustard in addition to the dry mustard, 1 tbs of Worcestershire, 1 tsp of onion powder and used 1 16oz can of Bush's baked beans and one can of black beans rinsed and drained. I also added 1/2 can of water, as I found it to be a little thick. Instead of using the crock-pot, I just cooked it on the stove in a dutch oven. Very tasty recipe, as mentioned before can be easily changed to suit your own taste.

Curry Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made this recipe yesterday. And I must say it is absolutely delicious. I only changed a few things. I added extra curry powder, onion powder and garlic powder. I also added cayenne pepper in addition to the paprika. I did not have any boneless skinless breasts, so I used a whole frying chicken, cut in half. I made the marinade on Friday and let the chicken marinate for two days. I will definitely make this recipe again. Thanks for submitting it!

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
I tried this recipe tonight and my husband and I both loved it!! I didn't have any green onion so I subsituted white onion and added a clove of minced garlic. I also added additional taco seasoning and added to both the cream cheese mixture and the refried beans. I used more hot sauce and added a little cayenne and also used monterey jack with jalepeno peppers. I cut the recipe in half and I will be making this again very soon. I highly recommend this.
