Hi fellow cooking folks. So do I have it right that when I publish a recipe it doesnt automatically show up to be rated on the general site?or is it just on my personal page?

You got it. In many cases it takes years to get published on the public database, such is the volume of submissions.

Personally I think If You Submit It, It Should Show Up, Unless You Mark It Private.

Hello Eva . . . You have three publishing options. One is to publish your recipe on your profile so others can see and rate it . . . commonly called a ‘Personal Recipe’ (you’re not submitting it to AR for their approval and use). Second option is to publish on your profile AND submit for consideration as a “Kitchen Approved” recipe (it could be approved within a few months, but many are not approved for years; some are rejected). Lastly, you can publish privately so only you can access it. More info here . . . . . . It’s a bit confusing for any newcomer but you’ll quickly get the hang of it by exploring the site. Hope to see some of your recipes.

I've got about four or five recipes that are in the wings, one that has been accepted and is lost in the editing process, and one that has been published. It follows no rhyme or reason. The cheese ball recipe was accepted and approved in a week. The Crispy Chicken was submitted weeks before the cheese ball is still being edited, and the others may just have been forgotten. The cheese ball may have gotten the fast track simply because I gave it a french name instead of calling it, "Cheese Ball XXXVIII." Of course, you have to know the French word for ball or cheese to search for it. I never thought about that little draw back until it happened!

Eva - what size box of macaroni do you use in your recipe? Food for Thought: have you considered posting the recipe link on the "Buzz"; thereby, drawing attention to it? Wishing you the best - Happy Cooking :)

About Me
Hi I'm Eva! I hope you enjoy my recipes. I am a home cook trying to start my own baking business (if I can just find a licensed kitchen in my area) and with the hope of one day owning my own restaurant. Until I get a GREAT job or win the lottery that may be a little ways off but with God all things are possible!
My favorite things to cook
I make a pretty mean roasted chicken. Fried Veggies, pork steak and baked tilapia.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big holiday meals with all the fixins!
My cooking triumphs
Green Beab casserole, fried veggies, and baked bbq ribs.
My cooking tragedies
ooo i'd have to say I cannot bake a cupcake from scratch to save my life.
