There I am
About this Cook
I'm a happily married Mom of a teenage son and 2 energetic girls Trying to learn how to make great meals for my family that they'll enjoy!
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook with the crockpot! I also like trying new recipes and I love the fact that you can rate recipes is awesome!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember making fudge, cookies and cakes at Christmas time with my Mom and I want to do the same with my kids too!
My cooking triumphs
I'd have to say when I made a recipe that had sour cream in it with DH loving every bite of it...LOL! See, my husband HATES sour cream and I think it's all psychological! If he doesn't know it's in there he'll eat it but if he sees that I dump it in a recipe forget it!!! Weirdo huh???
My cooking tragedies
I'd have to say the time this co-worker gave me a recipe for this beef thing with TOMATO PASTE...ugggh she said to use a big can of it and boy was it nasty!!! The whole dish came out like this big tomato paste glob with hamburger meat and garlic in it....needless to say it promptly hit the trash can!

Stacey's Chicken and Stuffing Casserole
Very good and easy to make with a lot of common things you'd have on hand in your pantry! I found it by using the ingredient search feature on All Recipes. I recommend using LOW SODIUM broth like I did, as it was salty enough using the low sodium variety. I might even dilute it down the next time with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup of low sodium chicken broth. This was really good. I suggest a dash of pepper on the chicken mixture before you top it with stuffing mixture. Thanks Stacy, this will be a keeper! :)

Taco Seasoning I
So I didnt have any taco seasoning packets for dinner tonight....ALLRECIPES saved me again! I love this site, I've been using it since hubby and I have been together so thats over 12 yrs!!!! When you make this recipe, it will be enough for 1 lb of ground beef (browned and drained)...just mix in a bowl and add 2/3 cup of water to your pan and dump mix in. Simmer for about 12 min or so. Oh yes, it's a little on the spicy side so you can adjust your pepper flakes but it was WAY good...never going back to taco seasoning packets again and I had all the ingredients in my spice cabinet!

Tortilla Surprise
It tasted better the next day reheated but my brood hated this :( I didnt think it tasted that bad but it was a wash. Being frugal I saved it for lunch leftovers for me and it tasted better after being doctored with spices. Thanks anyway!
