I used this recipe for deep fried dough sticks. You know how you get the garlic bread from restaurant? These had a nice crust on the outside and fluffy insides. When you are told that your breadsticks are better than Domino's or Pizza Hut you need to give the credit where it is due. I could not have had the success I did without Jay's Signature Pizza Crust recipe. Years back I loved these deep fried dough balls with cheese and marinara for dipping. I was about to go on the road back to that taste. I thought it would have been a long journey to go back 20 years. Not so. This was the first pizza dough recipe I tried in our deep fryer. I was a bit worried how the deep frying cooking process would alter the final product.I drizzled them with garlic salt and margarine as soon as they came out of the fryer. Now that I know this works I will be using real ingredients like garlic and butter. Wasn't expecting success the first time. Jay has done a wonderful thing. I plan on making little Calzones next time. This a great recipe for beginners. I am by no stretch of the imagination new to baking but the personal investment and technical skills necessary are minimal. The dough proofed in less than an hour(about 40 minutes) AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. They say that perfection is a journey and not a destination but if you are looking for the perfect dough-ball recipe this is the recipe for you.
