Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
They were still a little soft after baking for the recommended time and could've been sweeter but they are adequate baked treats to serve with coffee or tea.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
The taste was good but the consistency with using a whole stick of butter (or 1/2 cup) probably wouldn't work. I used only about half a stick of butter, melted which is half of what is listed above. The consistency was good with this version but I would add maybe more confectionary sugar or less butter to stiffen it enough for cake deorating.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
Good, but I would add half the suggested amount of butter or maybe less than that, otherwise they end up mushy and greasy.

Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2013
I had to add my own lemon juice, though it's not listed in the recipe for the batter, just to make it taste like lemon. I was at first a little suspicious as to why this recipe called for butter as I do not think cakes normally do. Anyway this should have led me to skip the butter altogether. Yet I added only half the butter the recipe called for instead and it still ended up tasting like a greasy, fried, buttery cake-like dish. Try another cake recipe! (Such as one without butter!)

Polish Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
Okay, but I would add less butter to the cake part for a less salty taste. Also, be sure to bake cake portion for 20 to 30 minutes until its firm, before adding cream cheese layer or cream cheese may seep into cake and blend rather than layer onto it. Adding a few tbsp. of brown sugar to the topping makes it sweeter as well.

Cranberry Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
I won't try this again. It wasn't very sweet and was instead a bit plain and salty, so it tasted more like Irish soda bread.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
Mostly good, but there is a bit too much butter in the crumb topping so it doesn't really form a crumb consistency. I would try only 1/2 tbsp. instead of a full one. Also, don't add the topping until the muffins are done cooking and add it instead while it's hot. Otherwise the topping will soak right into the muffin top and form a crust instead of a crumble. I added 3/4 cup crushed walnuts to the batter and sprinkled just a bit of sugar onto the muffin after the topping was put on and the muffins were just starting to cool. Both these things made it taste better.

Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
The taste was good and a lot like any other chocolate chip cookie I've tasted. I had a feeling they would be flat however, so I added a full teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 cup more flour to thicken them. I'm glad I did as they turned better this way. Adding chopped walnuts or almonds gives them a tasty crunch too.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
It tasted okay but I would advise adding NO chocolate whatsoever to keep them tasting like caramel. The chocolate sort of dissolved into my caramel layer and didn't taste that great and a bit too sweet. Also, double the rest of the ingredients (other than the caramels and cream), otherwise you will end up with very flat bars (mine were less than a centimeter thick).
