Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
Great frosting; very soft and smooth and tastes very sweet. They go wonderfully on sugar cookies.

White Velvet Cutouts

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
An excellent cookie! The cream cheese adds wonderful flavor and makes my tried-and-true sugar cookie recipe seem bland in comparison. I felt that 12 mins. was too long to bake them, though.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
These were *so* good. I gave them as gifts at Christmas on a cookie tray, and passed the recipe on to my mom.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
My kids had a lot of fun "painting" Christmas cookies with this recipe. Thank you!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
This was really easy to make, smelled heavenly while baking, and tasted great even though I used all-purpose flour instead of bread flour. The bread was easy to cut even while hot, and my kids devoured half the loaf immediately. This recipe's a keeper.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2004
These are *very good* cinnamon rolls. I have a similar recipe that dries out the next day, but these remained moist and soft the day after. I thought they could have used a little more icing, though. I used all-purpose flour instead of bread flour and they turned out great.

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
These are very good cookies, but the amount of spice in them seemed to overpower the taste of the butterscotch chips. I think the cookies would even be excellent without the chips -- very spicy, chewy and flavorful!

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2004
I was pleasantly surprised by this bread. I normally don't have good luck with breads I make by hand, but these loaves turned out great -- wonderfully moist and delicious. The only thing I did differently was heat the milk in the microwave to 110 degrees instead of heating it on the stove. Great recipe, but if you're fond of raisins, it would be wise to add more than 1 cup.

Jule Kaga

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
A very good bread and easy to make. I added a teaspoon of lemon extract to it because I like the cardamom/lemon combo, and the taste was wonderful. The only complaint I have was that it didn't rise as much as I would have liked. I would make it again, though!

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2006
These were wonderful. Being 'whole wheat' I didn't expect them to taste as good as they did. Definitely a keeper!

Super spicy and wonderfully fragrant -- my daughter couldn't get enough of this bread. It was moist and flavorful and made the kitchen smell heavenly while baking!

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
Not quite as moist as I would have liked, but still a very good muffin. I would add more fruit to it next time.

Ground Beef and Sausage in Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
I give this one five stars because my eleven-year-old asked for seconds and she *never* does that! Thanks for a great recipe that all my kids loved.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
These cookies are *awesome*! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out wonderfully -- thick, soft, chewy and delicious. My husband told me to make another batch that he could take to work with him! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
Although these were good cookies, I wasn't as impressed with them as some of the reviewers were. I thought the pudding taste was far too strong and made the cookies taste a little artificial. They did stay very soft for a long time, though.

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 2, 2006
These were very good cookies, although I gave them only four stars because they dried out rather quickly. My husband gobbled them up, though, and he's pretty picky. Thanks for the recipe!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
I made this with my eight-year-old after being disappointed with store-bought fondant. It was very easy to make and tastes *good*. I added food coloring to it to decorate my son's birthday cake and I love it. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
This recipe was *wonderful*! My husband raved about it again and again and the leftovers were gone in a flash. This will be a definite addition to my permanent recipe collection. I did add a can of black beans; also I used a can of diced tomatoes with chilies instead of plain tomatoes. I used all chicken broth instead of water/chicken broth and garnished the soup with sour cream before serving. Heavenly!!!

Cranberry Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
I tried this recipe because I *love* cardamom. However, I felt that the amount of cloves in this recipe was a tad excessive and eclipsed the taste of the cardamom. I would have liked to have had a little less clove and perhaps a little more of those spices that traditionally accompany the cloves (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) However, the muffins were very moist, with a nice crispy muffin top, and they were quite tasty. My son gobbled one up every morning with breakfast! Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
These potatoes were wonderful -- my daughter ate them even though she despises all potatoes except fries. I used half the amount of butter called for, and they were still very creamy and flavorful. However, like some reviewers have said, they did indeed taste better to me as leftovers the next day (although there wasn't much leftover after my husband got done with them). Thanks for the recipe!
