Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
These were *really* good and the kids absolutely gobbled them up. The thicker fries I cut didn't turn out as well as the thinner ones, so next time I'll be sure to make them nice and skinny. A keeper!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
Exceptional! Everyone loved this dish and it wasn't any more difficult to make than a regular lasagna. This will *definitely* become a part of my permanent recipe collection.

Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I wasn't sure about the texture (a little too 'fluffy' for me). Also they needed a *lot* more time in the oven than the recipe stated because they were squeezed tightly into the pan and the center was still gooey after 20 mins. But I did like the taste -- yummy and sweet -- and the butter/sugar topping. My daughter said they were her favorite cinnamon rolls and I've made a *lot* of cinnamon roll recipes. Hence, 5 stars.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was absolutely delicious! I only had a packet of mushroom onion soup mix on hand so I used that instead of regular onion soup mix. The roast was extremely tasty and the gravy was *so* yummy (although I did have to skim a lot of fat). I will definitely be making this again!

Fried Apple Pies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I made the recipe as-is except used half butter/half shortening for the dough. Wow! After being fried the dough was exceptionally flaky and apple mixture inside was wonderfully warm and delicious. Great recipe!

Gingerbread Frosting for Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This frosting was *very* strong for me, and completely overwhelmed the spice cake I drizzled it over, but if you like spicy, this is the frosting for you.

Clove Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This cake turned out wonderfully moist and tender, and fragrant with my favorite spice -- cloves. Excellent recipe!

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Perfect!!! I made eight sandwiches at once and they turned out beautifully. They were gone in a flash. This is the only way I'll make grilled cheese sandwiches from now on.

Cherry Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
These are *very* sweet, but I like things really sweet so I loved these bars. Nice and gooey (but not runny) in the middle, nice texture and the icing was perfect. Thanks!

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I made this recipe as written, and patted it into the dish even though I noticed that most of the reviewers had to roll it out (so much for a no-roll crust!). The crust was far too thick, greasy and heavy, with an artificial-butter taste. My favorite pie crust recipe involves tossing everything into a food processor, rolling out the dough and draping it into the dish, and it yields a light, flaky crust in half the time it takes to pat this recipe's large lump of dough into the pan. Not worth the time or effort for an inferior-tasting crust.

Wonderful Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
These are an "okay" waffle. There are other waffle recipes out there that are less work-intensive and produce a better waffle, so I don't think I will be making these again.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
These are probably the best oatmeal raisin cookies I've ever made. My husband, who is *not* a cookie eater, kept exclaiming, "Wow, these are good cookies!" Every time he wandered through the kitchen he grabbed a few. I made the recipe exactly as written, except made the dough into large balls, flattened them slightly, and baked them for 11 mins. Perfect!

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
Excellent cookies! I doubled the spices and these came out absolutely wonderfully: crispy and crackled on the outside and chewy on the inside. I baked for 8 mins. and they were perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!

Spiced Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
The kids gobbled these up! I cut the spices in half and used russet potatoes cut into wedges and the entire batch was gone at the end of dinner. Thanks!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
These are absolutely fantastic! I've never had a Cinnabon cinnamon roll, but I can't imagine they could be better than these. I frosted the buns with a Cinnabon frosting recipe found elsewhere on the internet and they were out of this world. Will definitely make again!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This is *very* good lasagna. It will be put into my permanent recipe file. I like the fact that it uses ricotta instead of cottage cheese (which my previous lasagna favorite used), and using 12 noodles provides a lot of structure and makes for a sturdier dish when serving. The recipe made a lot of sauce and I had a bunch leftover, but the sauce is phenomenal and will be eaten later over pasta. Thanks for a great recipe!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Very delicious, flavorful bread. The top didn't get as crusty as I would like, so I will choose the medium crust option on my breadmaker next time (and there will be a next time). Fabulous recipe. Thank you!

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I *love* cranberries so I was very happy to find this recipe! I made the recipe exactly as written and it turned out wonderfully. Two days later, it was still moist and delicious. Next time I will substitute dried cranberries for the golden raisins and see how it turns out! Just a note: the 70 min. baking time was too long for me. I took the bread out at 65 mins., and even then the loaf was a little dark. Thanks for a fantastic recipe!

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I *really* liked the texture of these cookies. They were very soft and the dough was very easy to work with once it was chilled. However, I thought the taste left a lot to be desired (perhaps because it uses margarine instead of butter?). In my opinion, a good sugar cookie doesn't necessarily need any icing and we often enjoy sugar cookies without any adornment. This cookie cannot be eaten on its own -- it definitely needs some icing. A blah cookie on its own, but a very nice, soft base for frosting!

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
I know that some of the reviews claimed that the sauce was bland, but I quite liked it. It was mild, yes, but quite tasty, and the whole family gobbled it up (including a picky three year old). This recipe is easy to prepare, feeds a lot, and tastes good. Definitely a keeper!
