Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
These are fantastic! I made the cookie dough as the recipe directed except substituted regular chocolate chips for the mini ones. After 18 mins. in my oven the cupcakes were a little underdone, but at 21 mins. they were perfect. Great recipe!

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
This was an extremely tasty spaghetti sauce and I will definitely keep this recipe. Instead of browning the sausage and ground beef separately, however, I cooked everything together before draining and adding to the slow cooker. Also, the sauce was a *little* bit watery. Perhaps this could be remedied by draining the stewed or diced tomatoes? A great recipe, however!

Maraschino Mini Muffins

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
The kids loved these, probably because they're very sweet. The entire batch was gone in a day and a half.

Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
This cheesecake is absolutely one of the best I've ever made. For the crust, I took out the 'whites' of the Oreos and just crushed the chocolate wafers. But I followed the recipe exactly and it produced a luscious, creamy, decadent cheesecake that tastes absolutely phenomenal. Definitely a keeper!

Cocoa Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
A very good cookie, however I don't think the raisins 'fit.' Next time I will substitute chocolate chips instead. Great recipe!

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Although this didn't give me a pure white fondant like the rolled fondant recipe (it was a little "off"), it was *so* easy to use that this is now my favorite of the three fondant recipes I've tried. There was no ripping, no tearing, and the fondant accepted color very easily. It was easy to roll out with a little cornstarch underneath, and didn't taste overly sweet. *Excellent* recipe!

This is *fantastic* dough and is now my go-to recipe for homemade pizza. Couldn't be easier and couldn't taste better!

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
This was a nice, easy chocolate frosting, but it was very light on the chocolate taste. The recipe also doesn't make very much -- I had to double it.

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was excellent and the whole family loved it. I halved the cornstarch and used a mixture of cornstarch and flour for the chicken as other reviews had suggested. I will definitely be making this again!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
Great tasting pie, however it wasn't as 'smooth' as my pumpkin pie, so next time I think I will try pureeing it instead of mixing with my hand mixer. Yummy!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
These were just okay. I'm always leery of making recipes using a boxed cake mix because the end result usually tastes a little bit artificial to me, and this recipe is no exception. I love the idea of filling a brownie with chocolate chips and caramel, but it would have been a thousand times better with a "real", from-scratch brownie recipe rather than a boxed cake mix.

Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
This was extremely easy to make-- I made it all in one bowl using a pyrex heat-proof bowl as my double boiler. I also substituted corn syrup for the glucose. Best part of all: it tastes great. This will definitely be my go-to fondant recipe from now on.

Whipping Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I made this in two loaf pans and added a little salt because of other reviewers' suggestions. It's not terribly moist, but not dry, either. It's very tasty and the dense crumb was very easy to sculpt for my son's birthday cake.

Chicken Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
This recipe was just okay; nothing outstanding. It's definitely a kid-pleasing dish because it's basically chicken cooked in soup; but, for me, it lacked something.

Perfumed Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
Okay, so I made the cake and was trimming it in preparation to frost it, and I was nibbling the trimmings the whole while. I thought the flavor, texture, and moistness of the cake was *fantastic.* Then I frosted it and decorated it. Frankly, the cake tastes *way* better than the frosting. It has a very pleasing, mild coconut flavor that other cakes have failed to deliver. However, the icing is achingly sweet (I did leave out the coconut) and, I think, doesn't pair well with the cake (just my opinion). That being said, the kids loved it and it's completely gone two days later. Five star cake, three star frosting.
