The family has been stuck in a rut for some time now.  We eat about the same 10 meals over a two week period, throw in a night or two ordering out and ta-da... that's what dinner looks like.  Lunch is even worse.  For one of us it's coffee and maybe a turkey and cheese sandwich and that's it.  Another of us uses the catch what you can maneuver to handle lunch.  Only one of us actually sits down and has lunch which usually consists of leftovers.  We won't even discuss breakfast.

So, this is going to be a test of the families ability to change, as well as, to try new things.  Since I'm the one who tends to like to try different types of food and recipes, I will be doing the blog and keeping up with how we're doing.

So, hi!  My name is Kym and it's nice to meet you... I hope I will meet some of you to share stories, make friends and get lots and lots of tips :)

Wish me luck!

Hi Kym, Good luck with your venture. I find myself in the same rut, too. But when I do want to try something different, a little research at all recipes really helps. Last week I had half a butternut squash in the fridge and wanted to do something different with it. I found a great recipe for buttrenut sqush risotto and had all the ingredients. It was delicious and made great leftovers!

Welcome to AR! There's a good group on the Buzz and a gazillion recipes here! When we first moved here to the ranch I had been in a bit of a rut myself. I got addicted to this site and rarely made the same thing twice for a year! Of course, we live several hours from town and so I have to keep a fully stocked larder. The great ones went into my permanent files and the not so good ones were deleted. Most of them were really good. I'm making things now I never thought i would...in fact, I now make my own butter, cheese, dairy and everything else to boot. Be careful, you have NO idea where this road can take you ! LOL
