Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
This pudding recipe should be a crime. It's THAT GOOD. (Next time, I'll be reducing to 2-2.5 cups of milk instead of 3. Never thickened for me.)

Egg Foo Young

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
My kids' first encounter with egg foo yung, and they loved it! Looked elsewhere on the Internet for a brown sauce recipe to serve over the omelets. Hit the spot! (Next time, will add more beansprouts -- we love beansprouts!)

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
Stellar manicotti recipe! On the first bite, I was expecting the average Italian flavor, but my tastebuds got a fabulous shock! Perfect blend of textures and flavors. This dish is casual enough for a family meal, yet classy enough for entertaining. I did make some modifications: 1) added ground beef to pasta sauce, 2) added 2 cups chopped & cooked spinach to filling. I distributed noodles between a 9x13 dish and an 8x8 square dish for baking. Served with green beans and Italian bread spread with olive oil. Quite a bit prep time -- mostly filling the noodles. But it was worth it! Will definitely make again!

Lasagne Verdi al Forno

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
My husband made this lasagna last night, and I swear, it is the best lasagna I've ever had in my entire life. WOW, the bechemel sauce was awesome. Hubby used Italian sausage instead of ground pork. He doubled the tomato sauces and cheeses in order to make more (family of seven here). And he added fennel and garlic. The herb flavor was outstanding. Hubby comes from a family of Italians, so he wanted to make something authentic. Lemme tell ya...this is as good as it gets!

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
Oh, wow! How EASY! All the holiday hype about green bean casserole, and I thought it must be something incredibly complicated. Our family LOVED LOVED LOVED this recipe. They passed the picky eaters in this house, so that says something big. I did modify just a bit. I topped with shredded cheddar cheese and buttered breadcrumbs. Delicious!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2005
OH-yeah. These are just what I was looking for. Downhome taste and fluffy texture. These are how "Mom's pancakes" should be made. This is the first recipe I've used that resulted in pancakes with some substance and personality.

Tasty! I followed the recipe exactly, and it came out great. Hubby and I liked it, but the kids turned up their noses.
