Pumpkin Spice Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Excellent recipe! One thing I wish I'd known is that the cookies pretty much keep the same shape as when you drop them. So, you can fit a lot on a sheet, but if you drop them in a big globby mess, they'll look like a big globby mess. (Oh well, guess I'll just have to eat them myself). Excellent cookie, and this is said from someone who pretty much only likes chocolate chip cookies. I will definitely make these again.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Love love love it! I followed Ginger's advice and used pork butt. One thing worthy of mentioning -- this freezes really well. I just put servings into those disposable containers and froze them. I pull them out the day before I want to use it. So, if you can't eat 12 servings at once, think about freezing.

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
Thank you for an authentic chicken & dumpling recipe instead of one using canned biscuits!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
This was bland; I will not make this again. Most banana breads call for much more sugar and butter and some sort of spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, whatever). Perhaps that would help, but honestly, I would just go with another recipe. Sorry.

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and reduced the time in the crock pot to 2 1/2 hours. The chicken wasn't tough, like some other have said. I used the extra sauce to make gravy and serve over rice (using cornstarch). However, it was just ordinary, nothing special. I don't think I'll make it again. It was a little too sweet for my taste (and I like sweet stuff!)

Pork Chops and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
We loved this recipe! My 1 year old just lapped up the sauerkraut and my neighbor was begging for the recipe. After years of experimenting with pork & sauerkraut recipes and finding all of them too bitter, this is my "new classic." Thanks!

Lentil Soup III

This was just okay. The cumin makes the dish, but still, it was only 3 stars to my husband and me.

Chilled Christmas Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
This was great. I made it for Christmas and my group drank it all . . . no leftovers. I think it would be appropriate during any colder times (when you think of wanting cinnamon).

Easy Corn Pudding

This has become a classic in our family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I sometimes reduce the butter and no one notices.

Pollo Bianco

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
My husband and I love this recipe! It's one of his all-time favorites. I do, however, try to use a VERY large onion and we still don't get quite enough sauce for our taste.

Ukrainian Borscht

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
Great recipe. I served it to those who even claimed to hate borscht (before trying it)! Delicious. It's not quite authentic, though, as soy sauce, celery, and potato flakes are pretty rare in Ukraine. I did see a lot of borscht with shredded cabbage. Just a thought. Very good soup!

Gerry's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
Great recipe. I've used it many times now and it's my "standard" enchilada recipe, although it does take time. I always seem to use far more than 6 (6 inch) corn tortillas. It turns out quite well, but has anyone else had that experience? Six small tortillas don't really fill up a 9X13 pan.

Finnish Kropser (Baked Pancakes)

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
This was great! I served it to a group of Brownie scouts and (almost!) every child and leader ate it and asked for seconds. The edges did get burned, though, so perhaps a lower temperature would help?
