Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
I followed the recipe for the most part, but did not use onions or poppy seeds, and made just 4 sandwiches. I used black forest ham and substituted Swiss for Havarti cheese. My husband LOVED this recipe, and described it as "restaurant-quality". This recipe would be easy to make for a larger group, and would be excellent for tailgating or potlucks. This one is a definite winner - thank you!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2014
This is an excellent base recipe, though I did slightly modify it based on other reviewers' comments; in all, I would recommend to add more milk and more cheese, so that you have an adequate amount of sauce prior to baking. I upped the milk to about 3 cups, whisked the egg with the milk in a saucepan, simmered it on low heat on the stove, and then added the butter and shredded cheese, until the cheese started to melt within the milk mixture. I quickly realized it would not be "cheesy" enough, so added more until I thought it was adequate; probably in excess of 3 cups of cheese. Then poured the cheesy mixture over the macaroni noodles and baked for about 20 minutes. In the end, it turned out GREAT, and my husband said it tasted like a Southern-restaurant quality dish.

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
This recipe is awesome and works terrific on the grill! I recommend cooking them in "halves" as opposed to putting the halves together (I used just 1/2 bacon slice per 1/2 jalepeno), and this also helps in a faster cooking time. For grilling, I'd also recommend to put toothpicks through each assembled piece to keep the bacon from falling off.

Haitian French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
This is an excellent French toast recipe! My husband loved it too! Very flavorful and easy to make. I followed the recipe here exactly, but substituted orange juice with pineapple-orange juice, and added a small amount of all-spice and vanilla extract. It was wonderfully sweet and satisfying!! By far my favorite French toast recipe, and easily modifiable to your taste with other ingredients as well!
