Spicy Cucumber Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This is excellent, even though I had to sub paprika for cayenne and left out the sesame oil. I also halved the amount of curry powder. Perfect.

Chicken and Leek Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
Very easy and tasty for a midweek dinner. I used mushroom soup and topped with Pillsbury Grands instead of pie crust.

Mint Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
Too tart for me even with 2 tsp sugar added. I used red wine vinegar, but next time I'll try the British standard malt.

Grilled Salmon Steaks with Savory Blueberry Sauce

Wonderful, 'though I did halve the balsamic vinegar and add a teaspoon of sugar.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I used only half a packet of onion soup mix and omitted the salt. Great recipe...quick, cheap and easy.

Mango Cardamom Bread Pudding

Wonderful....even though I used mixed spice instead of cardamom and forgot to add sugar!

Halibut Florentine

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2005
Excellent. I've never made cheese sauce this way before but it turns out OK and is much quicker than the roux method.

Halibut Weaver

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
Wow! So easy and so tasty! I only used cheddar cheese and omitted the mustard, but, even so, this was delicious. I rarely make the same recipe twice, but this will be a regular for sure. Thanks.

Coffee Roasted Beef Chuck

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2003
I was a little disappointed with this recipe. I found that I could not taste the coffee and the sauce overall was rather bland. Admittedly, I had difficulty thickening the sauce...maybe I should have just used half the liquid after cooking the meat. The meat itself was very tender and 'fell apart'. I don't think I will make this again.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2003
I used half soy sauce and half water and, though salty, the chops tasted good. I put in a 375 degree oven for 20 minutes since I was using very thin pork chops. Overall, I would use this recipe for a quick midweek meal but not for a special occasion.

Ground Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2003
I made these per the recipe except that I used 12 tortillas and layered them in the dish, making a sort of Mexican lasagne. Delicious!

Lamb Chops Au Poivre

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2003
A very nice alternative to plain roasted chops. My chops were about 1 1/2 inches thick and I found I had to double the cooking time. I will definitely be making these again.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2003
An OK recipe for an easy, week night meal. I used fresh garlic and ginger and doubled the amounts but the meat still did not pick up as much flavor as I would have wished.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
We all thought this recipe was "OK". The honey mustard added a nice taste as a coating for the chicken but was too sweet to be used as a sauce.

Excellent! Easy and very, very tasty. I added a sprinkling of dried rosemary to the breadcrumbs.

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Excellent. So quick and easy. I was a little skeptical since I usually brown onions first, but these turned out beautifully. A winner!

Proper English Cottage Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2002
Good recipe. Like others, I added a tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce and about 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. I also found that I only needed half the quantity of milk specified for the mashed potatoes. A great dish for a pot luck!

One of the best Brussels recipes I have tried. An interesting recipe without the Sprouts being overpowered.
