i didn't want to have to crisp them up, like reviews said, to serve it as drumsticks, which is what you expect from drumsticks. instead, i changed up the recipe for a one-pot meal. i filled the crockpot with a large head of sliced cabbage and topped it with chicken thighs, seasoned with the onion powder, garlic powder and frank's red hot (no butter - and i didn't miss it). it was reallllly good and i served it with rolls. the juice that comes out while slow cooking makes it good to dip the rolls in. it's kind of like an open faced buffalo chicken sandwich... it's not a pretty meal, but it's delicious and REALLY easy!
