Dark Chocolate Candy Cane Crackles

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
These were yummy! I used margarine instead of butter and chocolate chips instead of bittersweet chocolate. The first time I formed the balls I wasn't paying attention to the candy pieces and found that quite a few of the cookies came out of the oven with melted candy along the edges. When rolling the second batch I made sure the candy pieces were tucked in better and found that there was less oozing! I'm so glad to have found such a delicious recipe that uses up all those extra candy canes the kids seem to collect at this time of year! Note: I always use parchment paper on my cookie sheets. Maybe that's why I didn't have a problem with them getting stuck on the pan.

Bran Muffins a la Brian

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Everyone in my family loved these muffins! My almost-four-year-old ate three and then asked for another! The only change I made was to use 2% milk soured with some vinegar instead of the buttermilk.

Asian Coleslaw

I love this salad! I used a bagged coleslaw to keep it simple then added chopped peanuts. I personally think that's the key ingrediant for this yummy salad.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2006
Wow! I used wheat bran in place of the oat bran and a frozen banana otherwise followed the recipe as stated. These are great! I much prefer this type of blueberry muffin to the cake-like variety. I'm always looking to use whole wheat flour in recipes but don't like to sacrifice taste. This recipe is the best of both worlds!
