Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
I love this soup! I use chicken broth instead of beer and Ortega Chipotle taco seasoning - gives it an awesome smoky kick! Even my non-soup-eating husband likes this one!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I had some brown bananas and thought I'd look for a new recipe rather than my tried and true banana bread and I am so glad I did! This bread is so flavorful and moist! The friends I gave a loaf to said it was hands down the best banana bread they've ever had. Thanks for my new "tried and true" banana bread recipe! (I did use pecans instead of walnuts due to personal preference, but everything else was exactly as written)

Stuffed Kielbasa

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
This is a great recipe idea! I did change it up a bit to suit my family's taste and incorporate what I had on hand. I used a low-fat keilbasa so I skipped the boiling, and instead of sauerkraut (which I love, husband hates) I used grilled onions, made homemade mashed potatoes (I use butter & sour cream - no milk) and topped with swiss cheese. Even my 2 year old asked for seconds! This will definitely be added to our family faves!

Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
While I like the flavor of these buns, they turned out a bit too dense for me to be used for hamburger buns. I followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of letting the dough rise for 2 hours rather than 20 minutes. I don't know if I did something wrong or not, but I didn't get as airy a bread as I would have liked.

Taylor's Piroshki

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
I have never tried to make anything like this before, but I will definitely be making this over and over! It was a huge hit with my hubby and even my picky nephews! It does take a little time to make, but it's so simple and absolutely worth the extra time. I'm not usually a big fan of dill, but it was a perfect compliment to this recipe! I fried some and baked some (brushed the baked ones with a little melted butter after baking) and they were terrific both ways! It makes a really big batch so we still have a lot in the freezer, but I'm sure they won't last long! Thanks for a great recipe!

Scalloped Oysters I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2004
My husband absolutely LOVED this dish! He said it was the best way he's ever had oysters and I'm sure he will be asking for it frequently. He took some to work the following day and shared it with his coworkers who begged for the recipe! I personally can't stand oysters so I haven't tried it, but I love my husband and will definitely make it for him!

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
Absolutely the BEST quiche I've ever had! I did add a little garlic powder and onion powder to the bacon mixture which added really good flavor! I had a small slice for dinner and my husband polished off the rest of it between dinner and breakfast. He wants to know when he can take the 2nd one out of the freezer! Should have heeded others advice though, this recipe makes WAY too much filling for only 2 deep dish pie crusts - could easily have filled 3 or 4! Not the most health conscious dish (I know it could be made with fat-free cheeses and sour cream and turkey bacon or something, but would lose a lot of it's charm!), but I will make it every couple of months or when company comes - GREAT recipe!

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2004
I love chicken and cornbread and thought this sounded like a pretty good recipe, but needed a few additions. To the cornbread mixture I add a couple tablespoons of green chilies and a 4 ounce can of mushrooms, and to the chicken filling I add the rest of the can of green chilies, a packet of spicy taco seasoning and sliced olives, and I use a cheese blend with a little more flavor for the topping. Without the taco seasoning I thought the filling was too bland. I made this for my in-laws at a family function and now they request it almost every time they come over! (I've also separated the recipe into 2-8x8 casseroles so I can do one without mushrooms for the picky eaters)
