Classic Waffles

These waffles were delicious. The whole family loved them. I followed the recipe except for separating the eggs and mixing fluffy egg whites just before cooking. We had seven good-size waffles. I'll definitely make these again, but will double the recipe and freeze leftovers. Thanks for sharing.

Chef John's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

I made this for lunch today with homemade roast chicken stock made from the Juicy Roasted Chicken by ROBINROCKINBIRD that we enjoyed last night. Used store bought noodles to save time. The soup was absolutely delicious - both kids (3 yr and 9 mon) enjoyed it! thanks for sharing

Oven Brown Rice with Carrots and Mushrooms

This was ok; I was trying to find a different way to serve rice and specifically use brown rice as we usually eat basmati. My son usually gobbles up all his rice - but he didn't like this. My hubby & I thought just ok. Probably wouldn't make again - perhaps just not our taste.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Other than using butter instead of margarine, I followed this recipe exactly. It was, hands-down, the tastiest and juiciest chicken I've ever made. It was very flavourful - didn't need additional seasoning in my opinion. I'm going to try the same with turkey. I used a cookie sheet lined with foil (suggestion by a reviewer) and made a gravy with 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1 cup of water. Really yummy on mashed potatoes &/ rice.

Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

Delicious! Based on other reviews, it cut the beets & potatoes on the small side and cooked for the time noted in the recipe. Both were firm but cooked through. Whirled the beets up in Baby Bullet for my youngest and she gobbled them up. Awesome recipe.

Hearty Barley Turkey Soup

Great recipe - thank you. I roasted a boneless turkey breast with olive oil, rosemary and thyme and added to the soup to 'boost' the turkey content since we didn't have any leftovers and the carcass was a bit slim on meat. My hubby and 3 yr old loved it. Will definitely make again.

Ratatouille Soup

Excellent soup! I made this for lunch today with a friend and she took some home for her husband! We'll eat the rest for supper tonight. I followed the recipe other than adding an onion (with the beef) and I used beef broth and no extra water. Great recipe.

Real Italian Calzones

I was a little disappointed with this recipe. Based on the other reviews I thought it would be a little tastier. As suggested, I followed the dough recipe but used the bread machine - found there was a lot of dough; made four very large calzones. I tried the suggested filling for two of the calzones and added some extra ingredients to the other two. Also used the Italian seasoning instead of basil and mozza not cheddar as suggested. Next time I would make calzones even smaller/thinner and cook for 30 minutes, probably try adding some parmesan.

Pan-Roasted Chicken with Lemon-Garlic Brussels Sprouts and Potatoes

This recipe was both delicious and easy to prepare. Instead of 5 tbsp of olive oil, I used the leftover bacon grease plus the remainder in olive oil similar to what Mari suggested. I was nervous about a 'too lemony flavour' (based on what other reviewers said) so I used six thin slices and that seemed to be an appropriate flavour. if you're not keen on lemons, i'd probably leave out the slices. Great recipe, thanks for sharing.
