About this Cook
I love cooking. I enjoy trying out new foods and new recipes. I always enjoyed baking when I was a child. When I was about 16, I wanted more experience with cooking. So I picked up a cook book and started cooking for my family. I enjoy eating as well as cooking. I believe that eating should be an experience rather than something you do in order to survive. I really enjoy trying new foods and seeing how things work together. I am only starting how to really get into cooking. I say I am a beginner even though I have been cooking for nine years. I am just starting to explore more.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking with chicken and Vegetables. You cannot have enough vegetables in a meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother believes in keeping a family together. We always ate at the table. If we were too busy in life, a Sunday meal was a MUST. We also eat for every holiday. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Birthdays, and Summer.
My cooking triumphs
I recently cooked my first turkey. It was a success. It was juicy and had a nice brown crisp to it. I invited close friends and family and they really enjoyed the meal.
My cooking tragedies
I once overcooked a traditional bread. I was trying to impress a boyfriend. It was a total fail. It was hard and flat. I cried. lol

Chef John's Peanut Butter Cookies
Perfect Peanut butter cookies. Even my Boyfriend likes them. And he hates Peanut butter. Will definately try this recipe again.

Grandma's Pork Chops in Mushroom Gravy
Used fresh mushrooms instead of canned. Also used a flour base instead of cornstarch. Apple Juice instead of Sherry. The cooking time in the oven is too much. My pork ended up a bit dry, even though it was cooked in the juices. I will definately try this recipe again. The gravy is delicious.

Beef Paprika
It was yummy. I did need to learn how to cook the meat more properly. As I found it was too dry. It was tender and the sauce went well with the meal. My boyfriend loved it.
