Pleasant Pork Chops

Yum! These were juicy and savory. The sauce was great over the home fries I made as a side. I would make these again.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
Mmmmmm.....along with the other almost-2000-people, this was super yummy. I made this for 20 people in my grad class ane everyone loved it. The breading is wonderful. I used fresh oregano and added some chicken broth to the wine and a little corn starch to thicken. I will be making this again! Thanks!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
Um.....YUM! These really did taste like a reeses cup. I think it has something to do with the peanut butter in the chocolate? These are super easy with the food processor. I used my food processor to get the graham cracker crumbs really tiny but next time i'll just pulverize the heck out of them to get them even more smooth (think graham cracker dust). I added about 1 1/2 tablespoons of shortening to the chocolate/peanut butter mixture to help it be really smooth and easy to pour. They came out looking beautiful. I've been to the Hershey factory in Hershey, PA and it smells like these bars there!!! Thank you so very much, I will be making these often.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I just had to add my review to the growing number because this cake really should be tried. TRY this recipe! I'm very glad I did. This cake was super easy, delicious, and moist. I really didn't think cake could be good at all unless it came from a box and had "pudding in the mix" but this cake is fantastic. I didn't beat the batter for 2 minutes before adding the boiling water, it really isn't nessesary at all and you run the risk of over beating.

Easy Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I love this recipe. My mother and I invented it one hot summer afternoon when we were in the mood for something Italian. I really don't care for most of these ingrediants on their own, but together they are refreshing and delicious. Don't leave out the feta cheese! (I know, not italian, but it doesn't taste right without it)

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Pretty yummy! However, the bake time is WAY too long. I cut the time to about 10 minutes and the bottom was still burnt. I'll try it again and lessen the time in the oven even more, turn the oven down to 325 too, maybe until just bubbly. Thanks for the great tasting recipe!

No Roll Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I HATE making pie crust (and a complete failure when I try) and I truly thought I was doomed to never EVER be able to make a home-made crust. I am now a real pie baker, thanks to this recipe. I completly stumbled upon it as I was browsing pie recipes and because of that happy accident my life is now complete. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for an easy, delicious, flaky, no fail pie crust! I will never buy another pre-made, or cry and curse over roll-out pie crust again. One tiny change I make is to put 1T. of sugar instead of 1t. sugar in when I make sweet pies, I leave out the sugar altogether for savory pies. This recipe has changed my life (a little dramatic I know but it's true)!

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Just perfect. I scaled the recipe to 22 servings like another reviewer suggested and it made exactly 13 ounces. Next time I'll try 23 servings. Worked beautifully in my magic layer bars. I'll not be buying sweetened condensed milk ever again! Thank you so much for posting!

Best Ever Shrimp Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Mmmmm. This is really good stuff. Now, I didn't follow the recipe exactly, so I'll tell you what I did different: 1 cup minced cooked (not canned) shrimp, 1/4 cup mayonnaise (thats all I had!), and no celery (didn't have any). I just made it a few minutes ago (I was barely able to wait for the shrimp to cool off!) and I'm eating it right now.......probably going to polish off half of it right now.....really good stuff! One could add and subtract from this dip to make it their own. I wasnt too sure I would like this, but it's awesome and lends it's self to customization. I'll use this simple yet wonderful recipe again for sure! So glad I tried this dip. Thanks for the great recipe!

Creamy Rhubarb Dessert

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
YUM YUM!!! I think I was the only one that liked this desert, but I thought it was just fabulous! I increased the sugar in the rhubarb by about 2/3 cup (could've used just a tad more too)I didn't add the sour cream topping, I don't care for sour cream. I will make this again and again (just in much smaller batches so I dont eat whole darn thing myself!)

Idaho-Style Finger Steaks

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Very yummy. The freezing is important in my opinion. These were gobbled up between another friend and I with the munchies (made less than 1/2 a batch, only had a small steak). I also make onion rings with the same coating. Served with fry sauce (duh). MMMMMmmmmmmmMMMMM!

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie III

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
MMMM, mmmm! I made this for a friend that loves strawberry-rhubarb pie and he said this one was the best ever. I did not stick to the recipe exactly, I omitted the orange (allergy) and only added 4 tablespoons of the tapioca (the perfect amount for my fruit). The tapioca amount really depends on how juicy your friut is anyway. This pie was wonderful and the topping was super yummy! Thanks for posting!

Oma's Rhubarb Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
WOW! I am very impressed with this recipe. It was absolutly fabulous--moist, sweet, chewey, with a crunchy topping. Just awesome! Will make with half brown sugar next time (and all brown sugar in the topping) and put a little cinnamon in the batter as well. Thanks so much for this great recipe, I will make again and again!

Hot Pork Salad Supreme

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
This was sort of ok. I really wanted this to be good. All the ingredients work well together, it was just really way too creamy and thick and was much too bland for my taste. I added about twice as much rice as called for because I could hardly swallow it, it was so creamy. Then it needed salt really bad so I added about 1/4 cup of soy sauce, a handful of chopped green onions and cilantro and topped it with a breadcrumb/ parmesan cheese topping. I could at least eat some of it that way. My daughter wouldn't eat more than one bite no matter what I did to it. Probably wouldn't make again. Nice idea though!

Golden Egg Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Yummy! This bread was dense, full of flavor, a lovely color, and great with strawberry freezer jam! (I made it with 3 T. honey instead of the sugar and replaced 1 1/2 cups of the flour with whole wheat)

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This is a great muffin base. I made over 100 of these for one of my college classes today. I made double batches of banana & cinnamon, strawberry (these turned out really mushy and barely sweet, yuck! I'd reccomend drying the cut up strawberries on a baking sheet in a warm oven for a couple of hours before adding to the batter and raising the amount of sugar to a whole cup, THEN they would rock!) blueberry and chocolate chip. They were loved by all (with the exception of the strawberry, I'll have to try my suggestion and post the results). I'll put this on the frige for emergency baked goods situations! I love that you can add just about anything to this batter and it's still good!
