About this Cook
I was taught how to cook at the age of 5. My mom & grandmother would tell me what I needed but would not say how much. I had to learn by my mistakes which turned out the best for me. Once I knew where I made a mistake I would know what to do the next time.
My favorite things to cook
My Favorite things to cook are Hawaiian Baked ham, stuffed turkey, meatloafs, chilli, Pot roasts, breads, pies, cakes & farm fresh vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hawaiian Baked ham with candied yams, corn on the cob, brussel sprouts with cheese, potatoe salad, Cherry cheese cake, pumpkin pie & mince meat pie on Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
My first time cooking for my husbands family at Thanksgiving in 1976. I fixed my families traditional Hawaiian ham but made my own glaze using a large Hienz 57 steak sauce,2tsp ground cloves, 2 bottles Dr. Pepper, 1 sm.jar honey,3tbsp brown sugar, pineapple juice from 2 cans sliced pineapple, and the juice from 2 sm. jars of maraschino cherries. It has become a favorite at holidays for ham in my family.
My cooking tragedies
my frst sugar cake I made from scratch I was 7 yrs old I used baking soda instead of baking powder. the cake turned out beautiful but tasted horrible.

I love these They are an all time favorite with my family. I also lke to wrap them with a 1/2 slice of bacon and spread 1/2 tsp cream cheese on each crescent before wrapping them.
