Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I decided to make this salad for company as I wanted to make something different. This just disappeared. Everyone loved it. I did make sure to spray the wax paper with cooking spray so the nuts would not stick to it. I also made the dressing the night before to cut down on my time in the kitchen the day of my party. I wasn't to sure about the dressing by itself but on the salad it was great. The dressing really pulled all of the flavors together nicely. Will be keeping this recipe. Thank you for sharing it.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I took the advice of another reviewer and cooked this in a slow cooker. I rubbed the roast with salt and pepper, minced onion and garlic then put some glaze on the bottom of the cooker to coat it and then poured the rest of the glaze on top of the roast. I let it cook in the slow cooker for about 4.5 hrs for a 5lb roast and it was amazing. The pork was so tender it just fell apart. This was my first time making a pork roast and everyone who ate it was just amazed. Will use this recipe again. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing recipe.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I used this recipe to top the pumpkin cake that I made from this site, it was so good. Yet, some of my friends thought that it was a tad to sweet. Will keep this recipe but maybe cut down on the amount of powdered sugar it calls for. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
I made this cake for my annual halloween party and it was just amazing. It was so moist. I made it in a regular 9x13 pan and had no leftovers. This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe.

Frijoles II

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
This was the first time I have ever tried to make refried beans. I made them for my annual cinco de mayo party. I soaked the beans for 8hrs and then put them in the crock pot for 6hrs. The beans were very easy to make however I wasn't crazy about the taste. They could have used a litle more spice. Maybe next time I will add some more onion and some chiles. Overall not bad, just a little bland for my tastes.

Sangria II

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
I decided to try and make sangria for the first time for my annual cinco de mayo party. I was a little hesitant at first because I was not sure which type of red wine to buy. After deciding to use a merlot, I added lemons, limes, and oranges and pineapple. I didn't have any cherries, so I left those out. Everyone loved this so much that I wish I had doubled the recipe as it was gone in about 10mins. Will make this one again.

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
I was looking for a new sauce to use for my annual cinco de mayo party and happened to come accross this one. It seemed easy enough. I did not expect it to taste so amazing. As I was cooking it, I kept sneaking a bite of it. Will surely be using this again, as it is my new favorite sauce for enchiladas.

Margarita Cake

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
After reading everyone else's modifications I too decided to try the recipe with a yellow cake and lime juice instead of lemon. It was amazing. I had this for desert for my annual cinco de mayo party. I got tired of making flan every year so I decided to try something different. Everyone loved this cake so much that it was gone in 10mins. Can't wait to make it again.
