Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
These are by far the best and most consistent chocolate chip cookies. I followed another users suggestion and add 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar for the presentation of a cracked top. I also always add a tsp of almond extract. I have now made this recipe at least a half dozen times. Most recently, I kept the base of the recipe but substituted 1 cup of flour for 1 cup of oats and added white chocolate chips and craisins. The time before I added milk chocolate chips and toffee bits. When adding toffee you do have to cook at a lower temp and for less time as it causes the bottoms to burn. You really can't go wrong with this recipe and there are so many delicious variations you can make! Thank you for sharing!

Golden Yam Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I made a few changes in lower the calories and increase the health benefits. I switched out 1/2 cup of butter for applesauce, used eight egg whites instead of 4 eggs, added 2 tablespoons of ground flax, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp ground ginger. I did not cook the yams, simply peeled and shredded them on my grater. I also did not add the glaze and they came out sweet enough! Next time I may follow another user's suggestion of adding raisins! Thank you for the fabulous recipe.

I've never made more fabulous brownies. I wish the ingredients made more brownies than it does! I would recommend this recipe to anyone looking for a chocolate fix.

Honey Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I used this recipe as a base for my bran muffins. To cut down on calories and add more benefit I substituted the following ingredients: Omit oil Bran cereal : Bran flour Half the flour : ground flax omit honey Half the brown sugar: 1/2tsp stevia 5 Eggs : 9 Egg whites Raisins : Either dried cranberries or chopped dried peaches and walnuts The end result is very natural tasting and may only appealto certain individuals but my family loves them. They are a great way to start the day or keep in your purse to avoid tempting takeout on a busy day!

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
These are so fabulous. Like other reviewers, I halved the baking soda, substituted brown sugar for the white, and doubled all spices. I also added about a tsp of almond extract. I doubled the recipe and used an ice cream scoop to ball the dough. My cookies came out huge and delicious! Thank you!!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
These are great tasting oatmeal cookies. I really fudged them up - like another reviewer, I ended up with a big mess that turned into a pile of oatmeal cookie pieces. My guests gobbled them up despite the fact that they were definitely NOT cookies!! I don't know what I did wrong, but I will certainly try again as the flavor was so tasty, I could have just eaten the batter.

Ham Rolls

I make a similar recipe in which you replace the green onions with pickeled aspagus (from Costco). They always all go!
