Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
These were delicious and easy. I was not sure about the melted butter - but it came out perfect (There were still soft unmelted chunks of butter when I added it to the mix). It is late and I needed a quick recipe for guests tomorrw- so I cut corners- used a stick of butter, and used two egss (didnt divide out the yolk). I loved the result. Also I used a baking stone and parchment paper. My cookies were tasty - cooked evenly throughout- after I made them I read the reviews and was suprised people said you had to follow the recipe to a "T" - I didn't and they were great. One thing I did do is take them out (after 17 min) while the tops were cakey but you could see the insides were still moist. I was afraid they would fall but they didnt. Oh, and I added extra chocolate- just eyeballed the amount. -Easy!!

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
We did this on beef and my mother in law (who is practically martha stewart when it comes to cooking) said that she really liked it and it had a full flavor to it. It had a sweet taste to it that I had never had with roast beef.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
This was delicious. Family loved it. At the end I cooked the buiscuits in the oven about 15-20 minutes at 400 They had already been in the cooker covered for an hour and were still mushy and not brown at all, so once I put the in the oven they browned and cooked and were delicous. I think next time I would just put the pot straight in the oven after I added the biscuits and let it cook for maybe 30 min. at 350.

Best Ever Split Pea

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2007
this was delicious. We had company over and used it as a side dish. It was hearty - my friend who is pregnant loved it. She is grossed out by pork right now so it was nice that it is meatless since a lot of pea soups have ham in them. I didnt have yellow peas so just used all green. Also I didnt blend anything. Let it just simmer. I eyeballed all the ingredients - guessing that it was pretty close to what was listd and it was great. A little curry was a nice touch. I simmered the soup for 75 minutes as many reviews said you could shorten the time; but the peas were not fully cooked (barely noticeable). Next time I would simmer longer. Very good, and the our friends kept saying how delicious it was. Happy cooking!

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
I made this in the crockpot and it turned out well. I took the suggestions of others; it tasted really good and my husband really liked it- and he is really picky about how food tastes. I cooked the turkey sausage and onions in a pan then put them in the crock pot; I added the following: garlic, cannellini beans, petite diced tomatoes, sweet turkey sausage (I would use spicy instead of sweet next time),fresh grated parmesan cheese which I added at the beginning of cooking and some when I served it. I think it would have tasted just as good without the half and half or evaporated milk. Also be sure to put the spinach in in the last half hour-I put mine in with the rest of the ingredients and the spinach was a little mushy.
