About this Cook
I am a real estate agent in the northern virginia area. I have four wonderful kids whom I bake and cook lavish meals for everyday. One day they will appreciate it, but right now they are very picky eaters.
My favorite things to cook
I am famous for my caesar salad, decorated sugar cookies, cranberry bread, pumpkin bread, spinach dip, stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, birthday cakes, spaghetti sauce, apple pie etc...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to do a traditional turkey on thanksgiving and I am starting to do a roast goose and plum pudding for christmas. I love old fashioned recipies and try to be as basic as possible using the freshest ingredients.
My cooking triumphs
I once baked a mini wedding cake. It looked beautiful. I also sold 60 cookies dipped in chocolate with bows attached with icing to a complete stranger. SHe wanted them for a favor for her sons wedding. She gave me $240 for them. I was a proud mama
My cooking tragedies
I once baked a cake that looked like it melted. I put the icing on it to early and it slid right off. It also split becuase the filling i put inside was too moist. This happend the same day a friend asked me to do a wedding cake for her friend. With my confidence broken I politely declined

Avocado Shrimp Ceviche-Estillo Sarita
This is great with a little tweaking. Instead of the ketchup use coctail sauce. Add three times as much hot sauce, worshtishire, salt and pepper to your liking. To cut down on time add lime juice to already cooked shrimp each chopped in half. The lime juice is great for taste but I agree it didnt cook the raw shrimp well. Just use cooked shrimp. I double the cilantro as well for added flavor and please don't eat these with saltines!!!! Buy a big bag of lime flavored tortilla chips and serve in chilled martini glasses with chips stuck in the ceviche. Classic and tastey.
