Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! This was just wonderful!! I bought a 2 pound ham because it was just me & my hubby, so I cut the recipe in half. I made exactly as the recipe called for except I used brown sugar in place of the corn syrup because I didn't have any on hand. Then I lined my pan really good with tin foil & put half the glaze in there while simmering the other half on the stove. I basted the ham often & when there was 10 min. left for the ham & half of the remaining glaze on the ham & then the rest of it when there was 5 min. left. There was a ton of glaze but it was sooo yummy that I didn't mind at all!! I served with mashed sweet potatoes, squash & honey wheat bread (from this site) The bread tasted soooo great dipped in the glaze!! My hubby loves ham & he thought this was absolutley great! I like ham but I don't usually have more than a piece or 2 & I thought it was the best ham I ever had period!!! I will be making this for christmas dinner when I have the family over! Awsome recipe, thanks soo much :)

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This was good but not as good as I had expected given all the great reviews. I made exactly as the recipe was given except I didn't marinate the chicken because I didn't have time. Also I didn't have oj on hand but had some oranges so I made my own. Thinking this would make it better with freshly squeezed oj. I also took other reviewers suggestion & poured the sauce over the chicken when it was done instead of letting the chicken soak in the sauce. I thought it would help keep it crispy if it got poured over the sauce, but honestly the chicken could have used a soaking in the sauce cause it wasn't that much more crispy having the sauce poured over it. Also I should have marinated it, maybe the chicken would have soaked up more flavor. Also I think I would cut down on the lemon juice because it overpowered the orange flavor I was looking for. Not bad, but not quite what I was hoping for. I will have to make some adjustments next time I make it!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This was pretty good. I made it last night to give it a try & it wasn't bad but still not quite as good as the restuant. I have another recipe that I used, this one was a little better but its still not perfect. I'll have to mess with it a bit to see if I can make it a little better. Good base recipe though.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Absolutley delish!! Neither my husband or I are huge pork chop fans & after I made a maple glazed pork chop some time ago that was a complete disaster my husband stated he never wanted pork chops again! But looking to have something diffrent for dinner I found this recipe & bought some more. I had 3 boneless pork chops & the only change I made was that I seasoned them with pepper, garlic powder & some steak seasoning then fried them in the oil. Also I doubled the sauce as other reviewers mentioned but left the amount of apples the same. I'm soo glad I did cause there was a perfect amount & I don't think it would have been nearly enough for 3 chops when the recipe called for 4. So I will definatley at least double from now on. I also will double the apples as well cause I thought they were the best part!! Soo good! It was so easy & looked soo beautiful on the plate! I served with rice & green beans. My husband was complaining that this was going to be another gross pork chop dinner! As soon as he took a bite he looked at me & said this is actually really good! And boy was it!!! He said that if I ever made pork chops again it had to be this one! Thanks for giving me a great recipe to enjoy pork chops again!!!

Cookies 'n' Creme Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
Delish!! This was soo yummy!! Another great fudge recipe to add to my collection! My family has said I'm the official fudge maker of the family it was that good :) My only suggestion, I took another reviewers advice of using christmas oreos that had red creme instead of the normal white for a more festive look....I got more of a halloween effect turning the entire batch of fudge red! So I will no longer do this unless I'm using it for halloween cause it was quite gross looking....luckily it didn't bother us & we still ate it all up :) But I would't give it as a gift to someone looking like that! Use regular white creme filled oreos!

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This is a good base recipe for when I'm craving wonton soup & its pretty darn good! But its still not quite as good as the resturants. Still, I'd make it again when I'm in the mood for some & don't wanna go out!

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Oh My were these AWESEOME!!! I made them exactly as the recipe was the only change I made was I didn't measure the apples I just used 3 normal sized apples. They were wonderful & I don't think that a change needed to be made what so ever! It filled the house with a wonderful aroma too!! My hubby couldn't wait for them to come out of the oven & neither could I! Absolutley wonderful recipe!!! I will be making lots of these, we love them for a quick breakfast!! One of my favorite muffin recipes!! The strudel topping made exactly enough topping for all my muffins too unlke some recipes where you have way too much & don't know what to do with the rest! I just love this one, thanks for sharing this great recipe :)

Balsamic Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
These were real good! I don't eat cooked carrots much, I prefer them raw but was looking for something a little diffrent. Yummy! A nice change I really liked them! I was a little worried that the balsamic vinegar would be a little overpowering but it was just great! The only change I made was that I roasted mine in the oven rather than stir frying them on the stove top. 10 min. didn't seem like anywhere near enough time to get them cooked. I like mine a little crunchy, not completley soft & I still think 10 min. would have not been enough. So I took another reviewers advice and preheated the oven to 425 degrees & tossed the carrots with the olive oil. Baked for 20 min. Then mixed in the balsamic & brown sugar & baked again for another 2-3 min. Turned out perfect! They were cooked & still a little crunchy just the way I like them! They maybe could have been cooked a little longer but they were still good! You could still taste the carrot taste & the glaze gave it a lightly sweet flavor! My only complaint was that the glaze was a little runny...maybe next time I'll add a little cornstarch in to thicken it up a bit. But great recipe, my hubby & I finished them all up, there were no leftovers :)

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This was soo yummy!! I followed the recipe mostly the way it was with a few minor changes. First off I used veal instead of chicken, I sprinkled shredded monery jack cheese because I didn't have sliced on hand. And lastly I skipped the frying method completley to make it a little healthier. I served it over spagetti & it was GREAT!!! My hubby & I enjoyed ourselves! Will definatley be making this one again :)

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This was sooo easy & quick to prepare I did it on my lunch hour!! I loved how quick it went together & easy it was!! I'm a big spice lover & this was a bit spicy even for me!! I think it was a little too much hot sauce & that it could use some BBQ sauce to help tone it down a bit. Other than it being way over spicy its a great idea it just needs a little modifications. I think I will try this one again I'll just do it a little diffrently next time!

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I made this to use as a dry seasoning in another recipe because I didn't have any store bought ones on hand. It was kinda gross, all I could taste was the thyme. Didn't taste like ranch at all! Maybe it was because I didn't add the mayo & buttermilk to turn it into a dressing....but it just didn't do it for me at all, sorry :(

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
These were soo easy to make & were really yummy & moist!! I liked these better than the top rated banana muffins (can't remember what they were called) I took other reviewer's suggestions & added 1/4 cup walnuts, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamin & then sprinkled the muffins with cinnamin & sugar before baking them. The only other change I made was that I used only 2 banana's because thats all I had on hand. They still turned out great & were delish...great banana flavor!!!

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This was really good! I had some leftover sweet italian sausages & was looking for a diffrent way to use them up then the way we always have them. I will admit I was a little hesitant making this as its not at all something I would normally make but I've been in the soup mode lately since its getting chilly out & with all the good reviews I had to try it out. I changed the recipe around a bit based on other reviewers suggestions & my own personal taste. I used 2 can's of chicken broth because thats what I had on hand. I also added to equal amounts of water to cut the salt down. I also left the added salt out it didn't need it. I used 3 cloves of garlic cause I love it!! And instead of zuccini & spinach I used mushrooms & potatoes. It was delish! I had it again for lunch today & it had even more flavor today!! Great easy & quick soup to throw together for a weeknight meal :)

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This was delicious!!! My husband & I ate it all up for dinner last night! It was so easy to make! I served over white rice & threw in some pineapples & it was delish!!! Much better than store bought teriyaki marinade! The only thing I changed was that I didn't have cider vinegar so I just used white vinegar & it was just as yummy!!!

Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This was good but nothing too special. Partially my fault as I didn't have french bread on hand but figured it would still be good on regular bread. I also thought I had more cream cheese than I did but made it anyways. It was still good, but not wow good like I thought it would be. I'll have to try it again this time with the right ingredients!

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
This was sooo amazing!! I made this the other day & no one could stop eating it even though we were all sooo stuffed!! The only thing I changed is that I used an entire bag of caramels because 16 caramels with an entire 8 oz package of cream cheese didn't seem like anywhere near enough & I didn't wanna be eating cream cheese!! So I used an entire package & it was awesome! So easy to make too I love it :)

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
These were delicious!!! The only changes I made were that I didn't use cilantro I don't care for it. I also used real pizza dough instead of the pilsbury pizza dough I don't care for that too much either. The only thing I would change is that I think red onions would go much better than regular ones but even still it was delicious!!!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
OMG WOW! Best peanut butter cookie in the world :) I made these last night & they were delish!!! I took some other reviewer's advice & opened up all my peanut butter cups & put them in the freezer while I made the cookies. Then I put the cookie dough in muffin tins on a cookie sheet, that way I could bake more at a time. 8 minutes was right on!! Absolutley perfect! They were a little raw in the middle but I like them that way. Then I quickly pressed the pb cups in them & they stayed together perfectly without making a melting mess. I popped them in the fridge for 10-15 min to cool & then served them. Yummy!!! I can't wait to make them agian & again lol :)

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
YUMMY!!! I made this for dinner the other night & it was delicious :)The only changes I made was that I used cheese raviolli instead of tortalini's because that was what I had in the freezer & also used 1/2 & 1/2 instead of heavy cream again that was what I had on hand. Then I added 5 cloves of fresh garlic because I just love garlic!!! It was amazing!! This was a nice change from my usual ravioli's with pasta sauce. It was quick & easy too, I will definatley be making this one again! Thanks for the great recipe :)
