Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
The taste was great but the consistency was thin. I will try it again...

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
Very dense and heavy. not a bad thing. It was VERY tasty and chock full of flavor. I think I prefer it less sweet (without the pineapple).

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
This is classic comfort food on a cold winter/fall evening. I eliminated the corn & substitued carrots and used real colby cheese instead of processed. It was excellent. Can't miss with this one. Easy too!

Chocolate Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
Easy to prepare. Nothing special about this one: plain & simple and uneventful. Very dense and heavy. It's not bad but a little boring. My husband didn't like it at all and he is the dessert person in the family. I ended up eating the whole thing over the course of the week; made confect sugar frosting for topping.

Maple Syrup Pudding

I'm confused too!!! I have to agree with the other reviewer: this was absolutely CAKE. Very good cake but defintely cake. No pudding or "maple syrup on bottom" to be found. Yummy but not as described...

Old-Fashioned Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
It turned out great. I'm not a dessert person but I intentionally made it for my husband and he thought it was the best banana pudding he ever tasted. Thanks!

Mother's Applesauce Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
This was SO delicious! Altho it didn't look, feel or taste anywhere near a "pound" cake it was an excellent cake just the same. It has a similiar consistency of a carrot cake, dense but not as heavy. It's great!

Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
These are great. The outside is crunchy and the inside is chewy. They have a simple sugar cookie taste with a snap of cinnamon. I used dark brown sugar and added pecans. AWESOME.

Spicy Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2006
These burgers turned out very tasty and flavorful. However because there are so many ingredients which blend into one, makes me wonder if all are completely necessary. Still very good.

Best Hamburger Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
Everyone at my BBQ raved about these hamburgers. I omitted the onion soup mix (did not have on hand) and replaced with dried onion powder and eliminated the cheese all together. Still a great flavor. Thanks.

Tunnel of Fudge Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
It was the the T of F cake my husband grew up with but the flavor was good, it came out of the oven perfect, and made a pretty looking cake. Thanks.

Eggless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2006
I had no eggs at home & needed to make a quick dessert for church pot luck. They were a huge hit with everyone - kids and adults alike. Very tasty. Thank you!

Whit's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
Very good dish. Like others. I baked a whole chicken, shredded it then flavored the meat with marjoram, oregano and cumin before adding the cheeses. Used both corn & flour torts just for variety, enjoyed by all!

Very good dish; I excluded the tomatoes and used brown rice instead of white (needed 50 minutes to cook) and went heavier on the cilantro. Yum...thanks!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
This came out perfect. Very easy to make. I had to add more water for the first few hours until it boiled down some. My husband suggested more seasoning, maybe chili powder but that's the beauty of this dish: you can spice it up as you like. Thank you!

Very good but very different from the traditional oatmeal cookie: the chocolate flavor is strong and yummy. Thanks!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very good. I was actually looking for "chewy" but as the recipe says, they defintely are soft and stay that way. Very nice!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
This salad tastes GREAT and makes a very pretty presentation. It was perfect for a pot luck side dish. I substituted hard salami for pepperoni and used bow tie pasta instead of elbow. I did not measure the ingredients EXACTLY but added more or less to my taste. Also, a few pinches of salt for a finishing touch. Thank you!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
Excellent! Sweet but not too, and crunchy and yummy! Fun & easy to make. I substituted fresh mulberries for the filling, doubled the recipe and had to used 1/2 cup Crisco and 1/2 cup sugar because I was low on sugar. It still turned out great. Thank you!
