White Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
My husband said this was the best dinner I ever made! I was quite surprised by how delicious this was. I used Vermont Cheddar and 1/2 of a shredded red jalapeno pepper. I also bought salsa from the refrigerated section.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
Absolutely delicious! I made this with Rome apples and Granny Smith apples. I couldn't really tell the difference once it was cooked, only that they were both delicious! I did not make the vanilla sauce. I also cut back a bit on the brown sugar based on several reviewers commenting on the sweetness.

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
Moist and delicious. After reading reviews, I used 3 large bananas, and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp vanilla. I will definitely make this again though I might try it without the nutmeg. Cooked it again with whole wheat flour + flax seed instead of regular flour and it tasted just as good.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
Very good. I waited a day to eat it as others suggested. I wish it had a stronger pumpkin flavor. I used 1/2 cup applesauce & 1/2 cup oil. I would make this recipe again.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
Got rave reviews at Thanksgiving. I used 1/3 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar and would do the same again. Cooking the sweet potatoes in the oven took over an hour at 350... I used yams which ended up a bit stringy. I read a review that suggested that sweet potatoes might be less stringy.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
Tasty but nothing spectacular. Based on prior reviews, I used real rum, 1/2 c sugar + 1/4 c splenda, and 1 1/4 cups eggnog. It was still a tad on the dry side. But it definitely tasted like eggnog.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
I added a touch of peppermint extract. I also used dark chocolate which I froze before spreading on the melted white chocolate. I had a bit of trouble with the consistency of the Ghiradelli's white chocolate so I added a touch of canola oil.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
It's worth the work just for all the great responses it gets. I used rondele cheese instead of cream cheese. It was very easy to pipe in with a ziploc bag. I also made a cheese ball into an igloo and "frosted" it with a sour cream/cream cheese mix.

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
Very good and incredibly easy. I made 1/2 the recipe for a party. There were 3 other cheese balls at the party so we ended up with leftovers which we discovered tasted yummy when toasted on a slice of bread! Will definitely make again.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
Very good & very easy though I wish it were healthier! I will try the low-fat version next time. Used a bit less chicken and 1 cup heavy cream. Added some diced tomatoes.

Delicious. Everyone loved it. I used 1/2 lb corned beef. Don't start heating this too far in advance... After 5 or 6 hours it started browning...

WOW!!!!!!! Unbelievably good for something so healthy. I used hazelnut pieces for the nuts and probably only 1/2 cup. Otherwise I followed everything exactly.

Outstanding. Followed recipe exactly. Everyone raved about it at a bridal shower! Use Trader Joe's pizza dough sold "balled up" in a plastic bag in the refrigerated section.

Baby Shower Raspberry Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
Delicious and so pretty. Used strawberry flavoring. Would consider using strawberry cream cheese next time just to save money on the flavoring because it would probably taste the same.
