J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
They have a good flavor, they're just crumbly. I've NEVER had a problem with biscuits falling apart except for this recipe. I also use high quality ingredients.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I can't say anything bad about these muffins. This was very easy and quick to put together. I did cut down on the cloves by half and did not add any egg or oil. They turned out perfectly. My husband ate them quickly and told me to hold on to the recipe.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I cannot get enough of this bread and have made 6 loaves (froze 4 of them) already this summer. I took the recommendations of others and added extra zucchini. I did add a couple spoonfuls of applesauce simply because I always add it to certain baked goods - it makes them more moist. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. I enjoy this zucchini recipe more than others on this site.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I wasn't impressed the first night I made them. They seem to be much better the next day. The frosting is pretty good. They're very good to have zucchini in them and I'll definitely enjoy them. I do wish they were more chewy and not quite as cake like. I did follow the recipe exactly.

Concord Grape Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Very good pie! I did decrease the sugar a bit (to 1 cup) for my own personal preference. I added cornstarch to thicken. I came out with a delicious and not runny grape pie.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This makes a very tender, flaky pie crust. I did not alter the recipe, I DID double. It doubled nicely and I had no issues with it. Thank you!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
I kept the butter and shortening the same. I only added an extra 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 tsp each of nutmeg and ginger, I took the cloves down to 1/4 tsp as well, simply to suit my own personal taste. This is a great recipe just like her snickerdoodles. Thank you Beth, I'm trying your recipe for the peanut butter cookies next!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This is not a 5 star cookie, it's a 10! I did follow others' suggestions about freezing the peanut butter cups first. I'll be purchasing a second mini-muffin pan JUST for this recipe. Thank you!

Buckeye Balls II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
The taste was very good. I followed the recipe almost exactly and had no issues with it being crumbly. The only thing I had to do extra was melt another 3oz of chips and 1 tbsp of shortening. I didn't have enough for dipping. Since this recipe was better than the other recipe I had for Buckeyes, I'll continue to use this one. Thank you!

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
I altered the recipe a little and the taste was spot on. I did NOT alter the dumpling part and it didn't turn out right at all. I should have listened to other reviewers and done something different there. WAY too much dough!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
These muffins are fantastic and I will make them again and often! I did alter the recipe a tad. I used maybe a little more banana, put just a little cinnamon and nutmeg in the batter, I also put a splash of vanilla extract in the batter. They turned out beautiful!

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
This is a little different than some other cobblers I've had. It's a really good throw together, ingredients are usually on hand. I've made this twice now and I followed the recipe the first time. The second time I made this, I put a bit of cinnamon in the batter and increased the amount of cinnamon by a little that's sprinkled on top. I thought it turned out better the second time. I will make this again!

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
This is wonderful!!! I made it tonight and it was super easy, I had all of the ingredients on hand in the pantry. I did not alter this recipe at all. This would be a great last minute dessert to serve anytime. Definitely serve with the vanilla ice cream, I used Breyers. I will make this again & again & again! Thanks!
