Baked Fish Dinner For Two

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Even with extra spices, we still found this a bit bland for our liking.

Awesome Chicken and Yellow Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I made a few modifications as per some of the other reviews. To cut down on the time, I cooked it in one pot on the stovetop. I cooked the chicken and veggies first, adding a chili pepper and tomato, as well as extra spices to suit our taste. We like our food spicy. Once the chicken was cooked through, I added a bit of water to the pot to help cook the rice. (I used basamti). After about 15 minutes the rice was cooked.

Authentic Hungarian Goulash

This wasn't bad, but a bit bland for our tastes. I added a tomato and a hot chili pepper to give it a bit of kick.

This turned out really well. I did add extra spice and a hot pepper because we like our food hot. I also used fresh tomatoes instead of canned.

This was really tasty. We enjoyed the flavour of the olives. We did add a jalapeno and some hot pepper flakes though for some heat.

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
Even after marinating it in the dressing for a few hours and adding some spices it was still a little plain for us. Quick and easy though.

Amy's Mexican Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
This was so good we even had seconds. I reduced it for two people. We loved the sour cream and cheddar. I simplified it but skipping the blending step since we like our soup chunky anyway. I added some fresh tomatoes and a little less canned ones. I also added some frozen veggies and spiced it up a bit more since we like our food hot. We'll definitely be having this again. :-)

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
As some of the others said it was a bit bland, I mixed some cayenne and cumin into the mayo to spice it up a bit. I only put about a tsp of each, but next time I will try adding even more. I brushed the spicy mayo over the chicken and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours. It was really tender and yummy.

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
This turned out great. I actually had lots of sauce left over so I ended up putting an extra layer of noodles. I used ground turkey instead of beef. I'm sure I will make this again, but I would probably add more veggies and spices to our taste next time.

Alabama Mud Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
This recipe is awesome for people like me who can't bake and who don't have the necessary equipment. There was no mixing required. It was nice and moist, which is how I like my cake. I'm not a huge fan of cherries, so I was worried about them, but they really didn't overpower the cake at all. It wasn't too sweet or rich. The only thing I changed was I had to use milk chocolate chips instead of mint ones because I couldn't find any in my grocery store. It's my turn to bring a cake to work, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to take this one.

Albondigas

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
I'm giving this three stars only because it made really good meatballs. I will probably use these for other recipes. My husband and I really didn't like the salsa in the soup. I tried to salvage it by adding more veggies and our favourite spices, but the salsa flavour was just too strong.

African Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
We really enjoyed this recipe. I added more salt and curry to our taste. I also threw in some red pepper flakes and some cayenne for some more heat. I didn't have any coconut milk so I used 3 tbsps of yoghurt instead and added a bit of lime juice instead of lemon.

I hoped that my Middle-Eastern husband would like this one, but he didn't. He found it to be too sweet. I thought it was ok, but it's just not the real thing.

Tasty and easy to make. I used 5 fresh tomatoes instead of canned and it turned out really good. The meat was very tender and just fell off the bones.

T's Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
The lemon juice gave the sauce a really interesting flavour. I served it over pasta with some parmesan, and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again, though I will try increasing the sauce next time and maybe experiment by adding some extra vegetables and spices.
