I've been cooking since I was a kid, pretending to be Julia Child and making "salads" with leftovers from my mom's dishes. As a Type 1 diabetic since the age of 3, I grew up with an interest in nutrition and later earned a B.S. in nutrition in Massachusetts. After co-supervising and directing dietetic departments for several hospitals, I've simplified my life and enjoy cooking healthy, gluten free meals for myself, my husband and kids, friends, and family.
My favorite things to cook

My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph would be the day that my husband and I bought a new blender and I made a frappe and pulled the bowl off the base properly and enjoyed a deliciously chocolaty coffee frappe.
My cooking tragedies
I was excited to use my brand new blender/food processor that I had received for a wedding shower gift. I added all the ingredients as my husband looked on hungrily. I finished and went to take the bowl off the base; however, I didn't remove it properly and ALL the concoction poured out and onto the base and the engine of the blender. I cleaned up and proceeded to make another smoothie -- managing to make the same mistake a second then a third time (took 3 times to get it through my thick head!). Needless to say, the engine burnt out and my brand new blender was trashed.
