Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
Soooo soooo good! I did not fry the chicken first - I just put the breasts in a baking pan and added the ingredients. I know some of the reviewers used real bacon, but I found that the bacon bits added a deep smokey flavor that complimented the dish extremely well.

Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
I never even considered making my own bread until I came across this recipe and read all of the rave reviews and wonderful advice. I have now made this recipe many many times and have impressed my family and friends. The only thing I do differently is I use butter flavored Crisco shortening. Thank you to Danialle for submitting and to the allrecipe family for all of your great advice!!!

Potato and Bacon Salad

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Never thought to add bacon to my potato salad, but boy-o-boy was it good! I added more bacon, used russet potatoes and omitted the celery. Thanks for the recipe!!

Jesse's Ginger Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
I could totally drink this stuff! I added rice vinegar and used fresh ginger instead of ground. I made this twice, once with honey the other with white sugar...my fam and I prefer the sugar. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!!

Mom's Fabulous Chicken Pot Pie with Biscuit Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Loved this recipe! I used rotisserie chicken, frozen carrots, chicken stock instead of broth and doubled the stock/flour/half and half mixture. For the crust I used Pillsbury pie crust. Sooooo good!! Thanks for the recipe!

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
My family and I went to Chicago last month and I had these at Navy Pier (OMG so good!!), so when we we got home I immediately came onto this site and hoped there was a recipe! YAY! I was so excited when I came upon this one. I made this recipe exactly as written and although it was good, I know that they can be even better. Next time I make these, I will follow the advise of others and double my mixture, add vanilla and a little brown sugar. This recipe has good bones and I know that I will be making this for years to come!! Thanks BJ!

Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
I found this recipe several months ago and have not bought microwave popcorn since. My husband is a fan of sweet popcorn, so I just melt butter in a dish, add sugar, salt then mix the popcorn kernels in. I put the entire mixture in the bag and then into the microwave. As for me, I use Smart Balance lite and salt and thats it. A great thing about this is that you can make the popcorn as healthy or non-healthy as you like!

Smoked Paprika Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
O my goodness!! This dressing is so yummy - you can practically drink this stuff lol. I made this exactly as stated except I added way more than a pinch of sugar ( we like it sweet ). I used my food processor and added the olive oil last, after all of the other ingredients were nicely mixed. My husband and 15 year old daughter went crazy for this dressing!! Thank you for sharing - surely you won't find anything better than this in any restaurant!!

Chicken Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
This dish was okay...there was something missing though and I just can't place my finger on it. I may make this again, but I will add a different variety of spices and ingredients such as spicy chicken sausage or something.

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This chicken dish was very yummy! I added some garlic powder and cajun seasoning as well. I seared my chicken for about 2 minutes per side then put the chicken in the oven for about 30 minutes. (I took the chicken out of the oven after 10 minutes, but it was not done) The chicken was SO juicy and well seasoned. I served this with some cream cheese ranch potatoes (from this site). We will be having this again really soon!

Erin's Indonesian Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
With the recipe as written I had to give it just 3-stars :( I tasted the sauce after completion (following the recipe exactly) and it just did not do anything for me. I ended up thickening the sauce with flour/water mixture, adding more honey, more chile paste and more lemon juice. I also sauteed some garlic and added this to the sauce as well. After I revised the recipe, the sauce was pretty good and my husband and I really enjoyed it!

Cajun Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These were so very tasty! I did not measure my seasonings, I just sprinkled them on! I added more cayenne pepper because we like our foods spicy and I also added some cajun salt as well. This was served with rich mexican corn as our side dish(also from this site).

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I have never made homemade brownies before, and I must say that I will NEVER buy boxed brownies again!! I did not make the frosting on my first batch, and I found that the frosting is needed to compliment the brownies. My second batch included the frosting and Boy O Boy were they good!!

Chicken Chimichangas

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
These chimichangas were really good! Although the topping took a teeny bit extra time, taste-wise it was worth it and it added a nice color to the meal. Before cooking my chicken, I seasoned it really good with various seasonings so that the meat would not be bland and added a little salt and garlic powder to my rice. I think the next time I make these I will use ground turkey instead of the shredded chicken for variation.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I never realized that making biscuits could be so easy! I have made this recipe countless times but I always use margarine instead of shortening. I have also tried substituting the milk for buttermilk and they turned out just as great as with the regular milk. Awesome recipe!

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I used ground turkey and chicken broth instead of beef and the recipe turned out great! Like other users suggested, I added in cream cheese along with the sour cream and I opted to omit the wine altogether. I will definately use this recipe again and again!

Maple Pancakes

I will never buy boxed pancake mix again! These were great. I did add vanilla and cinnamon in order to add a little bit more flavor. My husband and daughter loved them and are already asking me to make more tomorrow morning.

Kim's Ultimate Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
This recipe is very flavorful, moist and delicious! I love the sweet-tangy sauce and like another user suggested, I put holes in the loaf using my finger, then poured the sauce over it. Doing this allows the loaf to absorb a great amount of the yummy sauce.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
This recipe was totally delicious. The original recipe was for 4 servings, so I just doubled the ingredients to make more sauce. I took the advice of another user and added peanut butter and it was great. The next time I will add chopped peanuts to give it a nice crunch. The crispy rice noodles was a nice addition as well and made a nice presentation.
