Happily married for a few years in Northern Ohio, I learned to cook from my mother and grandmothers. Some of my earliest memories are being in the kitchen. My interest in cooking stemmed from the loss of a family recipe, actually. My late great grandmother had a recipe for butter rolls that made her famous in her small town in Tennessee. Unfortunatly she took that recipe with her, rendering us unable to duplicate it. It was that event that inspired me to learn to cook and dulplicate nearly every dish I find.
My favorite things to cook
I sometimes take on the challeng of a new recipe for a gormet meal, but my favorite indulgence is southern comfort food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is big on food. Hailing from the deep south, every family gathering is centered around a great meal.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs arent spectacular culinary feats, but being the first in my genreation to master all the family recipes is my claim to fame. I come from a long line of outstanding southern cooks and they all have their specialties, like my great grandmothers three layer coconut cake and my grandmothers cornbread dressing.
My cooking tragedies
Well, the first roast beef I made for my husband was the worst. Later in our marriage my husband jokingly told me you could have used it for shoe leather.
