Kielbasa Appetizers

These were ok to us. Had a party and had ALOT leftover... I will stick to my vinegar spicy sweet sauce but maybe try it with kielbasa instead of just hotdogs and meatballs. Thanks though!!!

The Best Taco Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
SOUR CREAM: TO BAKE OR NOT TO BAKE: I decided to make this instead of my standard mexican dips for a party since it's cold out and bc I wanted to try something new! After reading all the reviews I could not decide whether to bake the sour cream on the dip or 2 layer it after baking so I decided to make 2 smaller dips and taste both!! (plus I hate when people review a recipe after changing it!!!) The first I made almost exactly as stated (I spiced up the meat mixture some bc it wasn't quite spicy enough for us). I found layering cold sour cream onto the hot meat 2 be difficult. Next time i will sit the sc out &/or stir it while making the meat mixture. I did forget to put the jalapenos tomatoes and onions on b4 baking :( & wish i had done that. WIll next time. Result: Very good!! The other one I layerd the meat w/tomatoes green onions and cheese and baked it then topped it with sour cream mixed with taco seasoning (YUM) & more veggies. It wasn't as pretty but tasted even better to us!!! My opinion is : top the meat mixture with sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, layer jalapeno peppers (if you like spicy bc the over bring more heat out of the peppers) green onion and tomatoes, cheese then bake then top with more veggies (more jalapenos, tomatoes, green onions, olives etc) and serve with a side of salsa :) to sum it up.... Delicious dip whether the sour cream is baked or not and this dip will be put in rotation for mexican nights and parties! Thanks for reading my novel :)

Wild Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I made this to top some grilled filet mignons and it was AMAZING!!! I only had white mushrooms so I can't wait to try it with the variety. Also used beef stock and a little beef bullion because it's what I had on hand. Used a nice chianti bc did not want an overly powerful wine taste. Amazing!!!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
OK.... this was AMAZING!!!!! I read alot of reviews before I prepared this. I found this recipe because I was looking for a new way to use up some leftover homemade chili and this was fab!! Only thing i changed was boiling the hotdogs (i used turkey dogs for less fat) then searing them with a little texas pete (we love spicy food) and heating up my homemeade chili. I used whole wheat tortillas to cut even more fat and placed a small amount of ketchup and cheese on the tortillas b4 placing the hotdog in and rolling them up. My husband (who prefers much healthier cusine) ate 2 and loved it!!! Will def use this as a new way to use leftover chili! Thanks for an amazing recipe!!!!!!

Sausage Flowers

ok.... fresh out of the oven these were great. a little labor intensive but very flavorful. However they were not good after they cooled some because they got VERY soggy. I really liked the flavor and idea but think i will put them in tostitos scoops next time so there won't be a soggy issue when they are cold. iv baked alot of things in scoops and they never get soggy! thanks for the method!!!

Stuffed Pepper Soup I

the flavor was good but it nedded tweaking. added tomato soup and a bay leaf and that really helped alot!!! Also added green beans so that there would be some veggies besides bell pepper! With changes i will make again! Served with a grilled cheese sandwich for my little girl, and my "great garlic bread" (it's posted on this site) for dipping. great dinner!!

Mexican Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Im sorry to be the lone negative force here but this was awful. I was really looking forward to having broccoli in a spicy cheese dip (a family favorite) but this was bland and had no flavor. it was also soupy with big chunks. Maybe salting a peppering the broccoli before adding and adding some jalapoenos and green chilis would help but honestly i threw it away. Thankfully I was having an appitizer party so had a lot of other things to serve. thanks tho.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

I will never make this again because I made it for a small get together and had about half leftover and I have eaten it constantly since.... lol. Seriously amazing!!!! the only think i did different was added a little extra hot sauce as we like things spicy and skipped on the exra cheese topping bc it really didn't need it! Will make this often but for larger events or send the leftovers home with someone else so I don't gain 30 lbs from it!! lol. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Fabulous Zucchini Grinders

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
these were AMAZING!!! Followed the recipe exactly except for serving them on whole wheat hamburger buns bc its what I had on hand. THe bread did get a little soggy so next time I will either toast the bread a lot more, use the cheese as a barrier between the bread and sauce or both.... but trust me, there will be a next time!! Delicious!!!!

Jalapeno Popper Cups

My husband and I thought these were to die for!!!! I also used the tostito scoops b/c I already had them on hand and prefer the taste to phyllo cups. I made two batches, one with fresh jalapenos and one with jarred and preferred the jarred ones because they were hotter and not "crunchy" and they were perfect ;) thanks for a great recipe thats delicious, spicy and easy!!!

wow!!! this was amazing!!!! The only thing i did differently was to add some garlic when the onions were almost done!! YUMMY!! the sauce this made is amazing and I am going to freeze it and make some kind of stew with it.... I do wish I had brought the beer to a boil and then put the shrimp in but it was amazing no matter what!!!! would give it six stars if i could!!!
