Cinnamon Popcorn II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
I added extra red hots to this recipe. It was good, but not great. The flavor wasn't strong enough even with the extra red hots.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Doubled recipe and made the following changes: 3 cups of fresh pumpkin puree (instead of 2 cans) 1 cup of sunflower oil & 1 cup of butter (instead of 2 cups of veg. oil) Lots of cinnamon, a good amount of cloves, and a little ginger. We didn't add frosting, but the pumpkin bars are delicious!!! They held together well after being cut. My kids asked for more and more!

Resurrection Rolls

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
I used the name brand crescent rolls and they turned out great! No problems with stuff oozing out. **** The only changes we made to the recipe were adding a teaspoon of vanilla to the butter and dipping the uncooked rolls in butter and the cinnamon/sugar mixture after they had a marshmallow sealed inside. They were VERY yummy! Even the adults enjoyed eating the Resurrection Rolls. ***** I made the rolls with 6 children ages 7 and under. The story and rolls together were great for demonstrating the miracle of the empty tomb!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
I've shared this at work and family parties. It's always a huge hit! Never anything left to take home. Like previous commenters, I roll my cheese ball in heath bar crumbs (sold in a bag at the store). Delicious!!!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
The BEST waffles I've ever had! So nice and crisp. I followed the advice of other reviewers and made sure I did not stack the waffles after removing them from the waffle maker. I will be using this recipe for now on to make waffles. So tasty!

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
This is THE absolute most wonderful chocolate cake- EVER! I followed the recipe exactly except that we used a larger box of chocolate pudding. The cake is incredibly moist and is thicker in texture than a regular cake- making it more like a brownie. I love the chocolate chips in it. The cake is simply wonderful and I plan to make it again for a family gathering!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
My kids loved them. They kept saying, "there's no zucchini in these". I made them without the frosting as I knew the kids would like the brownies even without it. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I thought they were just okay. A little too gooey. Overall they were good though.

Family-Style French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I added a little vanilla, used 9 eggs (vs. the 6 in the recipe), and made the french toast using Texas Toast bread (crust removed and cubed) instead of French Bread. It was a big hit during our Christmas Brunch!

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Delicious! Really easy to make! I used ground beef rather than turkey and added the 1/8c. water other reviewers mentioned. They turned out moist and very tasty! Next time I plan to make at least a 3x batch, shape the meatballs, place on cookie sheets to freeze, then put them in freezer bags so I meatballs on hand all the time.

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
These cookies are moist and delicious! The fragrance of the spices when I pulled them out of the oven was wonderful! I did double the spices as previous reviewers suggested, but I kept the baking soda the same and thought they tasted great. I also did not roll in sugar as they were sweet enough without it.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Delicious! I was skeptical when I saw how runny the batter was at first, but once I poured the batter onto the grill, it puffed right up! We usually make pancakes from a boxed mix, but these were so easy and delicious that I will continue to make this recipe instead! FYI- A double recipe was just barely enough to feed our family of 2 adults and 4 children. Next time I will make a triple batch.

These are INCREDIBLY delicious! I've made them using dark chocolate chips and they are even more rich than using the bakers chocolate.

Six Week Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I made this last year and was SHOCKED at how much it made. It was WAY too much batter, even for a family of 6. I didn't have a bowl large enough to store the batter. It took a large disposable 9x13 deep dish pan just to store 1/2 the batter (not including the bran cereal!!!). I did get 1/2 the batter cooked up (it was all I could fit into a gigantic canning pot at the time) and it was pretty good. Just be warned- this recipe needs to be MAJORLY scaled back unless you have a large supply of canning pots to cook it in!

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I made this caramel corn for the first time several years ago and it is fantastic! It was very easy to make- even if you've never made anything like this before. I found popping my own popcorn on the stove to be the easiest (and cheapest way) to get plain popcorn for the caramel corn. I make sure none of the kernels go into the caramel corn. This year I hope to find empty popcorn tins to store large amounts of the caramel corn in.
