Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
These are absolutely delicious! The sweet potato perfectly balances the spicy beans. I used black beans, and per other reviews, much less water. I topped with sour cream, and left off the cheese. Tasty, good for you, and easy to make!

Billy's Favorite Gingerbread Spiced Coffee Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
This is absolutely wonderful. I opted to double the spices so that I could have plenty of flavor without too much sweetness, and that suited my taste perfectly. It's sweet, but also has the warmth of the ginger, cinnamon and pepper. Really a brilliant combination! I use it in both hot and iced coffee, I love it in both. I think it's important to use the whole spices when possible; that way they infuse the syrup and don't settle on the bottom. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

Spicy Black Bean Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
These were amazing! I made half of the recipe because there are only 2 of us, but used the whole egg. I also used a little jarred jalapeno in the sauce and the patties, as we are not fans of very spicy food. Half of the recipe made 4 good size patties. The sauce is incredible, I'll be using it for more than just this recipe. The balance of flavors is just perfect, and so unusual. The sweet potato is the perfect counterpoint to the heat of the cumin and jalapeno, and the lime sauce is the perfect complement. We both loved this recipe, and will be making it again soon! Thanks so much for sharing.

Mango Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
The mango is what makes this guacamole so special, I think. They add a touch of sweetness and color, and that unexpected flavor that makes everyone just rave about it. I think soaking the onion in lime juice must really take the raw bite out of it, it was a brilliant thought. This recipe is a big hit in my circle of friends!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I was surprised to realize I have not reviewed these yet. I've made these cookies many, many times, and they always come out perfectly. The spices are just right, and the cookie is neither flat nor puffy - it's big and chewy. A real favorite of everyone who tries them!

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
LOVE the texture of this cheesecake. The sour cream makes it more creamy and less dense than most cheesecakes. It was light yet rich at the same time, and not overly sweet. We all loved it.

Jan's High Fiber and Rye, Soft Sandwich Loaf

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Awesome recipe! This is exactly the soft sort of rye bread that I love, not heavy or dense. I used 8x4 pans for a slightly higher loaf. So easy to make and just delicious. Thank you for sharing!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I've already made this 3 times in the last few weeks - everyone loves it! I topped it with Panko bread crumbs and parmesan before baking, which does give it a nice crunchy crust. The amount of jalapeno called for is perfect; both heat and non-heat lovers equally enjoy this wonderful dip!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Not much to add to previous reviews, but these are absolutely delicious rolls. I've tried a lot of recipes, and this is by far our favorite. Very moist and slightly sweet. Just wonderful. I baked 8 to a pan in an 8" round cake pan. I brushed with melted butter after baking. It makes 16 big, buttery, pillowy rolls.

Skinny Gingerbread Latte

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Wow, this is delicious! Perfect blend of spices. I used a tiny whisk to mix up the spices with the milk before I poured in the coffee, and that worked just great. And as noted, I don't have to get out of my jammies to have this - BIG plus! Thanks Tat, great recipe.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Cozy and delicious! I like that it's spicy but not quite as sweet as Starbucks version. I'm sure it's even better with whole milk, but I used skim and it's still wonderful. I did not find it to be gritty at all. Very good recipe, thank you!

Refrigerator Pickles

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
This made the best pickles I have ever eaten. And judging by the requests I got for the recipe (and more pickles!), others obviously agree! I used 1 cup of sugar, red bell pepper, and a regular sweet onion, thinly sliced end to end. I used 2 tsp. of kosher salt. I cut into slightly thick slices, and they were incredibly crunchy, and so delicious. The cider vinegar is a great idea, it is much milder tasting than white vinegar. LOVE this recipe, and will be using it over and over.

Bread and Butter Pickles II

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
We LOVED these pickles. I used red bell pepper instead of green; I prefer the sweeter flavor, and it looks beautiful. I also left out the turmeric since I didn't have any on hand. I added sliced jalapeno to one batch, and they were a hit also. I canned some and just left the others in the frig. Both were delicious. The first batch I sliced very thin with the food processor, but preferred the subsequent batches which I hand cut into thicker slices. These are so easy to make, and so much more flavorful than store bought pickles. This was my first attempt at making pickles, and I will definitely do it again next year. Thanks for the great recipe.

So fresh tasting and delicious. I opted to leave out the cumin, but added a small can of sliced black olives and a handful of corn. Love it.

Perfect recipe name - smooth is exactly right! I used less sugar, but the baking soda is the secret; my iced tea tasted wonderful. Thanks for the great idea!

Oma's Cottage Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
Wow, this is so good! Per other reviewers suggestions, I left out the milk, and pureed the filling thoroughly in the blender. I used about 1/2 cup of sugar, and added 1/4 cup cocoa powder. The result was a super rich and creamy - but much healthier than usual - chocolate cheesecake! I will absolutely make this when I want a healthy treat.
